She's relentlessly ambitious and pushy and *knows* she has nothing much going for her, hence the duplicate publicity stunt from last year. Hell, it got her on ET didn't it? She's going to milk the Zaftig girl in peril thing till the next ice age.

The only reason I even know about her little publicity stunt is because of this board, there is no other way I would have ever have seen or heard of anything this girl does if not for 2 times.

1. this board

2. the annoying ad for that awful abc family thing she did. it was some awful ad (not even a good ad, it was bascially some awful piece of paper) and i was forced to walk by it for a few days before the garage parked some SUV in front of it. (thank goodness)

Marissa is very talented. I really don't think it was a stunt.

Poor, uninformed corine...It never happened sweetie, it was a publicity stunt. Also, I've shopped on Rodeo many times but I'm a thin, tall man. Even so, I've NEVER met a salesperson who wasn't starving for a commision, be it L.A. NYC, Chicago, Miami,wherever the store, so the whole thing is absurd.

well i dont doubt that shes encountered rude sales people, ive had some crappy shopping experiences myself, though mine were usually because I was in a small store and the person thought my wheelchair was going to 'wreck' all their merchandise (or their rug!) but i do wonder why someone would shop four days before the Tonys in stores that she probably couldve guessed wouldnt have her size. she probably points out in the article that she looks 12 because the most common reason those people dont want to help you in snotty upscale stores is because they make the decision in their mind that you cant afford their stuff and helping you would be a waste of their time, the fact that shes a bigger girl in a store that caters to the 'thin is in' idea didnt help that notion either. I dont know that the story says 'hey im famous you better be nice to me!' as some of you are suggesting but rather saying 'you know I was seriously looking for a dress and could afford it and I was treated poorly, this should stop happening to girls like me because we wanna dress nice too.' But thats just my take on it. Activism is so often dumbed down to whining.
