Kinky Boots has been a longtime favourite show on Broadway and would love to go back! Just wanted to know if anyone has seen Mark in the show and what they thought about him? I have doubts about whether or not he can sing the score. anyone heard anything or seen him?
So, anybody see him in this?

I'm planning on seeing him in October - but I haven't seen anyone say anything about him yet. I saw David Cook in the role and instantly fell in love with the show, I'm hoping Mark Ballas will be just as good
Doesn't seem like he's helping sell tickets. Lots of dates on TDF and always at TKTS for 50% off.
Saw it this afternoon. He is not the best vocally. But his is a very honest and believable Charlie. It was a weird Saturday matinee. I felt like everyone was on automatic pilot. However the audience was great. Very light entrance applause for Mark. They defenitly were not there for him.! I liked him alot better in this than in Jersey Boys .

I'm going Wednesday the 26th! I loved him on dancing with the stars, so, I can't wait!
It's time they announced a closing. Ballas isn't selling tickets.
Mezzanie was empty yesterday.
Most of the names they brought in didn't sell tickets. Only Urie and Brady helped boost sales. David Cook did pretty well, but he was also there during Brady's run and then during the summer. Todrick Hall also did pretty well, but not the sellout status that Brady and especially Urie drew.

We get it! You want to see the show close! Instead of complaining about why it's still open, go see it 4 more times instead of turning to this website to make points others have already made about its financial situation!
Also, what are you going to do when it does eventually close? Are you going to latch onto another long-running show that "needs to close" (your words, not mine)? ACL2006, take what you post with a grain of salt and save it for a rainy day!

I saw the 2pm matinee on Saturday which was the first time since seeing the original cast. There were a lot of highlights but none included Mark Ballas. He seems like a good guy and his dancing was fine.

Said the person who called Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals "slightly lackadaisical."
September is always dead, but I'm shocked at how many seats are available for this week. Maybe they're hoping/planning for a bump because I'm sure they'll mention it when Dancing with the Stars is back next week.

Because... they are? I mean, all you did was restate my opinion on a different topic, so I don't really know what you were trying to do when you came up with this comeback.

Well the grosses went up a ton last week.. Guess Mark had more power than we thought plus 2for1 week.
I noticed tickets are only available through Feb 17th.. Closing then maybe ?

Looks like he extended through Nov 18th...Wonder who's the next Charlie .........I'd love to see David Cook come back again but he has tour dates through November 20th and doesn't tend to work much during the holidays.....
Urie’s tour is currently scheduled through 10/25 with one weekend festival date on 11/18... Ballas’ extension. They are then done touring until 1/10/19. The guy probably needs a break but just saying
I think they're likely to bring back Andy Kelso if the show is closing on Feb. 17. They'll get a boost from the holidays and then finish with strong sales for their last 6-7 weeks. No need for a name.
Also, curious how Ballas' attendance was in Jersey Boys? He's already missed a few performances of Kinky Boots.

We saw him this past Tuesday, I was underwhelmed. After seeing David Cook in August, Mark's vocals were disappointing. He sang the words and hit the notes, but the caliber of his voice not in league with a real Broadway belter. He basically couldn't fill the theater with a full, rich sound as well as missing a lot of the texture that brings on the emotional reaction the songs are meant to evoke (especially notable in "Soul of a Man"
. I also wasn't a fan of his portrayal of the Charlie character. He lacked the kind of quirky awkwardness that makes Charlie lovable. Again, David nailed the acting and characterization and Mark was a little too smooth and suave for my taste.

Whelp...I went this past Wednesday. Got to the box office, saw a very long understudy board. First thing I noticed "The role of Charlie Price will be played by Corey Mach"
While I would 110% love to see Corey Mach as Charlie (Really, I would, having seen the show twice prior and not caring who is in the cast because this show is just so fun), I was with a friend and we specifically went to see Ballas in the role. Very disappointed he was out but luckily the kind people at the Hirschfeld were able to past date our tickets; we are now going October 11th. Hopefully Mark Ballas will be in then. When I asked the box office attendant if this was a planned absence (despite there being no prior announcement) he said "no, he called out this afternoon and we thought he would be in tonight...he JUST called out about 5 minutes ago, we are as shocked as you".
I walked past the theater on Thursday and noticed Corey Mach was on for Charlie, as well as a very long understudy board. Hope there isn't a bug going around at Kinky Boots.
FWIW Mark Ballas performed a couple songs with Erich Bergen last night at Erich's show at Sony Hall, and he sounded great.
Ballas is set to leave Nov. 18. No word on the next Charlie? I have to wonder whoever his replacement is will close out the show? Must be a previous Charlie as they'd likely be in rehearsals now if it was someone new.
They announced a few weeks ago that it’s Conor Maynard.
