I'm so excited! But isn't the Adult Woman role hearing? Or did they change/expand it?

I believe both adult roles are played by two actors: one hearing and one hearing-impaired.
This makes so much sense that I'm a little embarrassed it didn't occur to me earlier.
The EPA breakdown says they're seeking both a hearing actor and a deaf actor for both the adult male and adult female tracks.
This production actually split the role. One was speaking/ one was signing.
Thanks!
I just checked my playbill: Yes there two adult men and two adult women -- one speaking/ one signing.
For the adult male (classroom scenes) a lot of the spoken dialogue was sublimented by clever projected subtitles that looked like writing on the chalkboard.

I was going to skip this. So much for that!

She is the only deaf actor/actress to win an Oscar. (For children of a lesser God.)
If you're a Seinfeld fan, she also is the lip reader Jerry dates and George uses to find out what his girlfriend is saying about him.
"I actually don't know who Marlee Matlin is..."
Why would you openly admit this?
Sorry, I don't know all the famous people.
I do realize now that my comment was slightly irrelevant, sorry xD.

She was also in The L Word as Jodi for anyone familiar with that show. She is a fantastic actress.

You're correct. At the Wallis, the hearing actress played Wendla's mother and the schoolteacher, whereas the deaf actress played Melchior's mother.
This is now the ONLY show in the '15-'16 season I care about seeing now. Just the thought of meeting one of the most groundbreaking people in the history of film and one of the most iconic deaf rights advocates of all time is making my heart beat faster, just thinking about it.
This is an EVENT, people.
Enjoyed her on Switched at Birth. I wonder if any cast mates will join her

Daniel Durant is returning to the production as Moritz.
I'm so much more excited for this production, if that was even possible. Matlin is one of my favorite actresses of all time, and was my first real exposure to sign language (which was a large part of why I chose to learn it).
I always thought she was cast in the movie version of Lesser God, because she was the lead in the Broadway production?

No, if memory serves, Phyllis Frelich was in the B'way production (opposite John Rubenstein) and won a Tony for her equally fine efforts.

Phyllis Frelich was in the Broadway production.
Thank you for clearing that up ??
And we're also getting a revival of THAT this year, right?!
A wonderful actress!! Loved her on The West Wing.
