I apoligize everyone. It seems I got too excited and didnt bother to check if it was her real account or not. Sorry to get anyone excited.
Chita has a concert on Long Island on Friday 9/28. If she's in the show, she's missing next Friday's performance.
No worries, Bway! It has happened to everyone!

Could be a situation where the understudy performs a week before the replacement starts the week after? I think that's been done before.

Bibi Osterwald played DOLLY for 2 weeks before Pearl Bailey took over.
I was so excited. I’ve never wanted to see Anastasia, but I might fly to see NYC to finally see Chita in something. Sounds doubtful, but fingers hopefully crossed!

Wha..wha...what? It's not Chita?
The part is not big enough for a star like Chita, she'd never take it.

It was a big enough role to be Tony nominated. Also ANASTASIA and THE VISIT share several of the same lead producers and both were scripted by Terrence McNally, so it’s not at all far fetched to think she would do it.

McNally also wrote the books for her two Tony-winning roles, and Ahrens & Flaherty & McNally contributed material for The Dancer's Life. It's as good as her parts in Nine and Drood, and there aren't a ton of musical roles out there for an 80+ year old woman.
That said, I wouldn't be shocked if it was someone like Judy Kaye instead of Chita.

Chita is scheduled to narrate the Candlelight Processional here at Epcot on Thanksgiving weekend. If she’s doing Anastasia, she’s either going to be out that weekend or she’s withdrawing from the event.
Regardless of the creatives, Chita is Broadway royalty, at this point in her life, she has no interest in taking over a two bit featured part in a show that will never be a hit. Not to mention they can't afford her.
Updated On: 9/18/18 at 10:54 PMThe show’s been running over a year and is starting three other productions (national tour and two overseas), it may not be Hamilton but let’s not act like it’s doing poorly.
(cough) flop

Actually, the show is projected to recoup in October/November.

Thanks for clearing this up! I've been waiting for this bit of news for quite some time... ![]()
Is Judy Kaye 80?

She is 70.
There is no chance this show will ever recoup. Look at this year's grosses, they've lost money almost every week. A big smelly flop! Sorry no Chita!

How constructive.
