I snagged a ticket last night online, but according to the seating chart, it looks like they added a row in the balcony. How is the view from the very last row? I only paid $30 ($20 + service fees), so I'm not expecting much from up there.

Thanks.

The nose bleeds in the New Am are aweful. I'm sure it will still sound great from up there.

The seats aren't awful - you have a great view, but the leg room is TERRIBLE.

Thanks, Caryme. If I had paid a lot for them, I'd be upset. As I'll only be visiting NYC for a limited time, my dates aren't that flexible. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Believe it or not, I have never seen the movie.

I was in row M (the VERY last row) on the left. I could see everything just fine, but the audience up there is obnoxious (though I'm sure they're just as bad everywhere else). I think it's hard to feel engaged from so far away. People were talking and coming and going the whole time. Groups of 10 would get up to go to the restroom. The ushers were also pretty bad, wandering around loudly. Otherwise, you're far away but I could see and hear just fine.

It's just a message board. Let's not take it too seriously.

It's not so great. I did standing room in January at the very very back of the balcony. The theatre is so huge that you really are quite far away.

That being said, the show itself is kind of devoid of nuance and subtlety so you're not missing much, in my opinion.

I did manage to commandeer a seat in the last row of the mezzanine during the beggining of act 2.

Everything in the show is huge, so you'll have no problem seeing anything really. But the leg room is terrible, absolutely terrible.

hey, thanks for the advise everyone

and yeah, we can always try and sneak down to the mezzanine or orchestra, but i think the show is almost sold out, so im not sure if thatll be possible

but i think we should be fine in the balcony. were young and have good eyes, haha

No offense, but I don't know where people are getting the idea that the front section of the balcony is far...the New Amsterdam is built in a way that, although large, the audience is mostly very close to the stage (it's almost like a cylinder of sorts, but a bit rectangular in shape).

That being said, the BACK of the balcony, where you are sitting, IS far. You're up very high and smooshed between the light booth and the wall on the side. You need to really focus, and not let things distract you, as annoying as they might be.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...
