From playbill.com's student rush policies page:
Student Rush: $30 - sold on the day of performance when the box office opens. Subject to availability. Only available to college/university students. Limit 1 ticket per valid ID.
Maybe I haven't been around for a while, but I didn't think any of the disney shows did this. Has anybody done it? How early do people show up? Where are the seats? Do they consistently sell weekend tickets, or will they not sell any because it's a Saturday night?
I got there at 7:15 last night and was given rear mezzanine seats. They were WAY up there. Catherine Brunell was on for Mary and she was absolutely amazing!
7:15 last NIGHT?? They go on sale when the box office opens- at 10, I'm assuming? And there were still tickets left? I hope that means I don't need to show up at 6 in the morning...

Doubt it? It's an absolute waste of time to get there before the box office opens. You will not have a tough time getting seats for this show, but you'll probably get better seats earlier in the day.
He showed up last night at 7:15 for LAST nights show. Not today's performances.
Mary Poppins is not exactly in high demand among the student rush set.
I think it's only Lion King that doesn't rush.

Tarzan did it and Little Mermaid has rush.
The Lion Kind did have rush for a limited time last year.
Also keep in mind that the balcony costs 31 bucks for a ticket there. And, those are not hard seats to get. In other words, there are plenty of ways to get cheap tickets for this show rush or not so that is why there really isn't a reason to show up early to the box office.

Do you guys think Lion King will bring back its student rush in September/October?

And, to answer your question, I doubt it.

Actually, correct me if i'm wrong, the entire balcony is now $61.50, and the only seats which are $31.50 are the boxes right next to the stage and the rear sides of the mezzanine, where you are unable to see the top of the house when it's fully positioned on the stage.

I sat in the balcony I think I was in like the 2nd to last row for $31.50

I sat in the box closest to the stage, on the house right side last summer, and really liked my seat. Aside from Mary's Act II entrance, nothing was cut off.
jagfkb is correct, the entire balcony has been priced at $61.50 since January.
I believe this show always did that. Tarzan did too
I saw the show last month and we got there after failing all the lottos and got mid-mezzanine and it was fabulous setting with the exception of the obnoxious boy behind me who kicked me in the back of the head at one point. The show is so magical and I was legitimately terrified by "Temper, Temper."
I was at the box office a few weeks ago looking to get a ticket and the price list in the box office still lists at least a section of the balcony if not the whole thing for 31.50.
My friends and I paid 30 for mid-mezzanine.
I did student rush (1:30 for Wed. matinee) and I got Row L in the mezzanine. It wasn't too bad, just very high up.
Has anybody tried rushing for Mary Poppins lately? I'm planning on going to the matinee show this Sunday and was wondering if they still offer student rush tickets, and if they do how early should I get there?
(Also, where are the rush seats located normally?)

I've rushed the show twice. The first time, I was seated in the 5th row Mezz. Beautiful seats. Second time, I was third row Balcony. Also great seats for a great price.
Be sure to have a college ID! They're very strict about that.
Great! Thanks for the help! How early did you get there?
