I'm going to NYC in oct, and i've already got my tickets for the addams family, billy elliot, promises, pormises, and next to normal but I still have room to see one more show.
Here's my options:
-jersey boys ( already seen it but my mom wants to see it)
-memphis (saw the pre broadway try out but it could be fun to see what's changed's changed)
-phantom (seen it but ya can't get enough phantom
-west side story( its coming on national tour but don't know if its worth it to see it on bway)
-ALNM (im a bernadette peters fan :)
Give me some input!

A Little Night Music, hands down. As far as I know, Bernadette is only in it until November, so it would be probably your last chance to see her in the role. She's incredible. I love the production and I think that it has really improved since the cast change.
Don't see Jersey Boys again.
Haven't seen Memphis, so can't comment on changes. I did, however, see Addams Family in Bway previews in March and again a few weeks ago and nothing had changed, if that's any indication.
Phantom. I used to think I couldn't ever get enough of the show, but I finally reached my breaking point. It'll be around for a long time yet, so this won't be your last chance to see it.
Might as well catch the tour of West Side Story. It's not that special a production, especially since Karen Olivo is gone and by the time you come Josefina Scaglione will be gone. You'll likely see the same level of talent and production on tour as you would on Bway at that point.
I'd also like to recommend La Cage. Don't know if you didn't list it because you've seen it or aren't interested, but it's a very charming production and I highly recommend it for an entertaining and heartwarming evening!

At first when I got to NYC I had no desire to see Mary Poppins but it turned out to be a pretty amazing show. It really is a great story about bratty kids and a crazy witch/nanny who comes to change everyone's lives.
I guess if you hate the thought of going to see that, then go see Jersey Boys again. Or... I hear Mama Mia is amazing...

Posted: 9/17/10 at 1:20pmOMG this not even close to being a contest. If you are a Bernadette fan and have not seen night music yet. Its one of the most amazing experiences you can have. Hands down ALMN, and your mom will enjoy it too, don't worry.

Posted: 9/17/10 at 7:45pm"Disgusting" is a strange way to describe a Broadway show, especially one that doesn't feature live vomiting or defecation.

Posted: 9/17/10 at 11:16pmOctober? See The Scottsboro Boys. It's not listed as one of your choices, but it should be. If not, see Night Music.
