Am I going insane, or did Matthew Broderick have a safety pin attatched to his blue button down shirt for basically all of the Producers film? I just want to make sure that I'm not mad and imagined the entire thing..it kind of threw me off and I was staring at it when I saw it the second time...I tried to find some pictures and these were the best I could do, in the first picture you can't see a safety pin and his collar is sloppy, but then in the next, it's got the safety pin and is neat. I just felt it was kind of sloppy to fix his collar that way, there are plenty of other ways to have done it.

Maybe they did it on purpose to show how much of a loser he is?

Posted: 12/28/05 at 8:57pmThou it may look like a safety pin, it is actually a traditional gentleman's accessory that keeps the shirt collar neat, and makes the knot of the tie stand out. Go into any boardroom in America and you're bound to see several. Ask them if it's a safety pin.......I'm sure those stuffed shirts could use the laugh

No, I KNOW not on the tie. It's one of those tie clips that goes UNDER the knot on the tie and grips each side of the shirt collar. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of one elsewhere, but the one you have on Matthew is what it looks like. I'm POSITIVE its not a safety pin lol!

lol, ok. I knew it was something and it looked like a safety pin..I knew it was too absurd to be one but didn't know what it was. Thanks for clearing it up, lol.
