I am reading her book now. Did anyone happen to catch her during her run as Rizzo in the 90s production of 'Grease'? If so, what did you think of her performance?

I saw the Sunday matinee that was her final performance (and Mickey Dolenz) as well. It was actually the first show I ever saw on Broadway.
Overall, I thought she was fine but it's difficult to remember much 14 years later. I might have just been caught up in the excitement of my first Broadway experience.
With all of the shows I've seen since then I have to admit that Grease hasn't really held up as one of my favorites.

Thanks, everyone.
From what I can tell, the mid-90s version seemed to be much more of a parody of Grease. She would have been in her late 30s by the time she appeared. And Rosie was much older as well.
Hard to imagine such older actresses appearing in the show.

Um, no.
::small voice:: I actually enjoyed the mid-90s production...
It was one of my first shows as well, though I saw it with Jasmine Guy as Rizzo (she was pretty good as I can remember, but this was awhile ago). I wouldn't call it a parody, but it had more spunk in it then the recent bubble-gum fest that closed. Of course, I wish someone would produce the show that Grease was supposed to be...
They switched out Rizzo with a name every few months in the 90s revival production, I think.
I enjoy what Maureen says about GREASE! in her book; something along the lines of "I cried to Rosie saying I didn't get any direction" and Rosie responded, "You think I did?"
Maureen was only in GREASE! for a few weeks. She's one of the Rizzos I missed (saw that revival many times, actually enjoyed the shameless pink fluff that it was), but I liked her publicity shots.

I guess it's just hard for me to imagine someone the age of Rosie or Maureen at the time playing a teenager.

LOL Have you seen the movie version of Grease? It's people in their 30s all over the place.
Um or the just closed revival?

yeah, also true. But then you don't really get teenagers playing teenagers on stage very often, and when you do you end up with 13 the Musical.

sort of oof topic but why did they make two different cast recordings for the 94 revival I've always thought it because brook shields was in the production at the time.
It's the same cast recording, with the exception of Shields' voice dubbed in for the Rizzo songs and dialogue.
They did the same thing for the Wonderful Town cast recording with Brooke Shields.
The only difference is that in addition to Shields, Jennifer Hope Wills was also dubbed in as Eileen on the second recording.
I saw it. The only thing that stood out was that she was way too old but then so was everyone else who was cast in that production. She handled the role fine though. But then again, I was a big Brady Bunch fan growing up.
Did anyone here see Linda Blair?
