Oh, that's right. I forgot about that song cycle. I'm inclined to believe it was written prior to that, because one of the famous BMI workshop assignments was to write a song that was either a "happy goodbye" or a "sad hello", and it certainly seems to fit that.
I heard Johnny Rodgers do a great version of "Danglin'" at a Yeston/Joseph Stein tribute and I seem to recall him mentioning that it was just a standalone song.
