I read often about how people think Mean Girls is one of those movies that would make a great musical, so I was wondering do you think it would work as a musical? Personally, I think it has the potential to be very cute, and I would LOVE to see Annaleigh Ashford as Karen.

I would LOVE to see this as a musical. I think Colleen Ballinger would be great as Gretchen! I could see Annaleigh Ashford or Annelise Von Der Pol as Karen :)

Just re watched the movie yesterday and I totally agree. I think Ana Gasteyer could for sure reprise her role onstage as Katys mother for sure! She has a great voice. Another random thought I had whilst watching the movie was, for the pre show curtain, it would be amazing to use the map of the school that Janis draws for Katy when she first starts there. The one that shows where all the groups sit at lunch. Just an idea :)

I love that, and even though I know people think Sutton Foster should play Ms.Norbury, I'm not sure she would have the right edge to her humor, but Ana Gasteyer would kill it!

I don't remember her exact quote, but Tina Fey was asked about this in an interview and she said she and her husband (a composer who writes all 30 Rock's music) have toyed around with the idea and written some things, but Paramount, not she, owns the rights and apparently are holding onto them. She said she thinks it would be fun to work on it.

Didn't they do a musical for Heathers though? Which is basically like Mean Girls, but in a much darker tone.
