re: Mean Girls: The Musical?

You could have Anneliese van der Pol as Cady.

OHMYGODYES.
One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

It was awesome.

re: Mean Girls: The Musical?

I vote for Heathers over Mean Girls as well. Though, I love the Mean Girls movie.

I say we skip the teen movies and go straight for Golden Girls, The Musical.

I would imagine that Miranda's songs (if this is ever done) wouldn't be conventional, but almost militant marches type of songs. Much like most of Blood in the Water from Legally Blonde. Barely sung but fast talking with a beat.

Who is Miranda?

Can anyone else see Laura Bell Bundy as Regina and Kristin Chenoweth as her mom!

re: Mean Girls: The Musical?

Kelly2 and myself thought that a great cast could include:

Annaleigh Ashford - Karen Smith
Tiffany Engen - Gretchen Weiners
Jessica Lee Goldyn - Regina George
Sierra Boggess - Cady Heron
Jason Gillman - Mr. Heron
Ana Gasteyer - Mrs. Heron
Morgan Weed - Janis Ian
Daniel Everidge - Damian
Aaron Tveit - Aaron Samuels
Shaun Taylor-Corbett - Kevin Gnapoor
Kaitlin Hopkins - Ms. Norbury
Norm Lewis - Mr. Duvall
Gaelen Gilliland - Mrs. George

re: Mean Girls: The Musical?

That's funny I was just thinking about reviving this thread wiht my revised cast list: (a lot of my choices are similar to winter sky even though they've been in my head for a few days now)

Cady: Annaliese Van Der Pol
Regina: Tiffany Engen
Gretchen: Alli Mauzey
Karen: Diana Degarma
Janis: Tracy Jai Edwards
Damien: Daniel Everidge
Aaron: Christopher J. Hanke
Ms. Norberry: Gaelen Gilliland

"Cady: Annaliese Van Der Pol
Regina: Tiffany Engen
Gretchen: Alli Mauzey
Karen: Diana Degarma
Janis: Tracy Jai Edwards
Damien: Daniel Everidge
Aaron: Christopher J. Hanke
Ms. Norberry: Gaelen Gilliland "

I think a lot of those choices are strange. Christopher J. Hanke is completely wrong for Aaron, Diana DeGarmo would make a better Cady than Karen, though I still think that Sierra Boggess would be better. Tracy Jai as Janis? Really? LOL. Sorry, no offense, but a lot of this seems very off.

re: Mean Girls: The Musical?

i'm picturing the cafeteria scene being much like 'Stick to the Status Quo'...only actually good.

Cheno as Regina's mum is inspired. though, would she really want to be anything but the spotlight?

Sierra Boggess as Cady is perfect. she needs a part without half a canvas fish sticking out her ass.

and of course Annaleigh Ashford being Karen. though this would in fact be nailing the point home that she can't do anything but ditzy blonde...

By the way, Tina Fey can sing, in case you forgot. She needs to be involved in every way. That would be like the perfect mating of my two loves: Sketch Comedy's Goddess of Amazingness and Broadway (I'm aware that "amazingness" is grammatically incorrect and I don't care!). I think it could be a palpable musical if done right.

I need to see this movie again. I had had too many glasses of wine the first time.

But I agree, The Heathers would be great!

Oh God, I'm imagining Norm Lewis saying, "Oh, HELL no! I did NOT leave the South Side for this!" I'd give him a Tony just for that.

re: Mean Girls: The Musical?

I wonder how they'd go about hair colors for the show. Does Regina HAVE to have blonde hair, and does Cady HAVE to have red hair?
