....according to the good people over at All That Chat, Ms. Mullally has been cast as Elizabeth (the Madeline Khan part) in the upcoming Broadway production of Young Frankenstein.
I guess they went another way, since Kristin Chenoweth did it in the reading.
Spectacular casting, if true.

Wow, that could be a blast.
If this is true - WOWZERZ!!!!
Thank God.
I'm still going to audition to be a replacement
I wish I had known earlier since I saw her at today's matinee of "Prelude to a Kiss." I hope this is true.
So Kristin's out of the project?
seems like she prob is at this point..unless they have decided to put her in the Inga role instead.

Wasn't Kristin Inga in the reading and Sutton was Elizabeth?
I would love to see Sutton's take on Elizabeth but Megan would be wonderful also
No - Sutton was Inga, and Kristin was Elizabeth

I hope that this is only a rumor. I looked on news.google.com, and found nothing that officially says that Mullally will be playing that role.
Kristin has been developing some TV work as well, plus she'll probably fare better in star turns at this point of her career, it might not be a good career move to do an ensemble-driven piece.
none of the casting has been officially announced yet.

Actually, since the Broadway role was arguably written for Kristin (Mel has said in interviews that her in the show would be a dream come true for him), they did indeed go a different way.
And yes, we can read, thanks. Rudeness.
Both the pilot and "Frankenstein" revolve around a mans infatuation with the dead. Humorous..
I heard last week that Chenoweth decided that, after going back into "The Apple Tree," she really didn't feel as motivated to do another show so soon as she thought she'd be, so she went forward with the commitment for the pilot and dropped out of YF.
I don't know anything about a replacement, but Mullaly would be a hoot.

That wouldn't surprise me, considering the lukewarm reception of Apple Tree.
Either way, Megan is a welcome addition.
I hope this is true! I would love to see Megan Mullally on Broadway!
I hope it's true. Megan would be a great Elizabeth. Very fun!
I'd prefer Kristin, but i've always wanted MEgan Mullally back on broadway, so i'm not complaining. too much.

Wait a minute. Is Mullally a soprano? This role was written as a soprano, and I haven't heard anything sung by Megan Mullally that even hints that she is a soprano.
yes she is a soprano. She may not be able to hit high D but she is, nonetheless.

Isn't she a classically trained singer?
Megan classically trained? no. In fact she has never had any formal voice or acting training at all. Ever.
