I really love KC but yes, yes, YES MEGAN MULLALLY!
This news made me cream myself and I am not even gay.. Ok that was disgusting but, I LOVE MEGAN MULLALLY :)
SH*T, I was hoping for Kristin.
that is just fantastic!
I like the idea of Megan as Elizabeth. I'm imagining her doing the train scene and it's cracking me up.
If she is cast when would she be starting?

How is Megan any different than Kristen?

I think it's a good move. I couldn't see Kristin taking on such a small role anyway. If I remember right, in the movie Elizabeth only appears in the opening and ending scenes.
Megan would be a perfect fit, her funny voice and all, and I think Megan could sell more tickets than Kristin at this point.

People off the street called BROADWAY know who Megan is.
Yup, VERY happy about this one!
Please God, let it be true.
I have not seen YF in ages so the details are a bit fuzzy, but I could definitely envision Megan in the role of Elizabeth...indeed, I had always just naturally assumed Chenowith was being looked at for Inga...
My oldest son and I were chatting about our trip this summer and we were sad to see The Producers go before we can get back there on vacation, but now some of the upcoming shows that we want to see will force a 2nd trip next Winter (not that we mind..but the little ones take after their father and prefer the beach-- very, very sad for them.) indeed, we were both so stoked when we saw this rumor, and embarrassed as we are about it -- we are both really looking forward to the Little Mermaid as well..
Just think we will finally gain our permanent freedom from Arizona -- in a mere 7 years...
You're in the witness Protection program?
Please let this be true.
Could it be because of Kristin's new pilot - "Pushing Daisies?"
CurtainPullerDowner: Oh no. Witness Protection would be a step up...indeed, I have a far worse fate...divorce.
Oh sorry.
A pilot is hardly a reason to drop out unless it is picked up.
They shoot a pilot on like 2 weeks.
There is so much that Megan could do... I love her in YF and i think she would be fun in MAME.... What else?
HELLO DOLLY?
She has such comic chops.

I could definetely see her do this. I was hoping for Chenowith to do it, but Mullay is a fine substitue for her, if this is true.
I'm just hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that Roger Bart and Sutton Foster are doing it.
Just for your info, when Young Frankenstein was going into production back in 1974, Madeline Kahn was originally cast in the role of Inga, but then decided she rather play Elizabeth. Yes Inga is a bigger part, but Elizabeth is a small but pivotal role. In that little screen time she stole the whole movie. I mean the whole cast is perfect don't get me wrong but she is the icing on the cake. She is like the top bottle of wine in the wine cellar. Only break it out on a special occasion. I can't wait to see it on Broadway but for me no one will ever top her. You can not top perfection.

If Kristin ends up not doing this (and I know some of you are going, "She already has," but I'm a skeptic), I say that instead of a Broadway Cast Recording, there should be a studio cast recording with Brian, Kristin, Marc, Shuler, Sutton, Roger, Cloris and the rest of the people at the reading, so that I can still HEAR how Kristin might have sung the songs that Mel Brooks composed for HER to sing.

Too much money for nobody to buy.
I just found this cute H2$ pic. Thought I'd post it for the sake of fun and adorableness.
