How about Jane Krakowski? Would she consider replacing her? Just a thought. If Stockard wasn't returning, Judith Light would probably be great in that role. (Really I'd see her in anything to be honest. I love her stage work.)

Ha, dreaming! Jane Krakowski is a genius idea. I don't see her having an issue replacing Mullally in such a high profile production, but I do wonder how she feels about being in a show with her baby being so young, and I also wonder if she is indeed up for being in a show whether she'd rather be in a new show like the rumored WHOREHOUSE revival.

The revival of "Whorehouse" won't be coming until next season at the earliest. This is a short term gig. I think she'd be terrific.

Noah Robbins (currently in PUNK ROCK) would be my choice to replace Grint. They'll probably want someone better known, though. But Noah would be terrific in the part.

Judy Greer, Elizabeth Perkins, Julie White, and Jean Smart have all come to mind. Kristen Wiig would be a dream but she's too hot a property to replace someone in a supporting role if she were to make her Broadway debut at the moment & probably a bit too young.

Andrea Martin isn't the name I've heard, but she would be great. (She'd probably be even better in the Stockard Channing role though). Of course, she and Short go way, way back--and were in-laws (her ex-husband is the brother of Short's late wife).
