I am a Melanie Griffith fan, perhaps the only one, but that comment made me die a little inside.
I guess she should audition for Contact or Movin' Out or the new Dylan show.
She can't even dance. When she was in Chicago they had to change the steps!!!!
well, that works out great for me, 'cause I don't want to hear or see her attempt
As opposed to what? Talking musicals?

Um...
Alright, you all KNOW how I feel about her...
Her dancing is quite possibly worse than her singing. I know, I know, that could be a stretch, but really.... I think it might actually be worse. Ann butchered that choreography SO badly just to make it easy enough for Melanie and even THAT was too hard...
I just... yeah... I can't deal with her no talent self.

That article was sooooo bad! I've always like her screen work but she did not do well in Chicago. I still think she's adorable.
yes...she is great in film...but in Chicago...i could tell she is not into doing "singing musicals".
Sure she does ok in film !The longest anyone has to perform in film is 10 minutes since that is the length of a canister of film. And nobody usually goes that far either.
Did anyone see her do Chicago? I heard that she lip synched or had another women sing for her while she was on stage..and it was from a actually tv show like Dateline or something...maybe I imagined it...but is that true??
She annoys the crap out of me either way...
i doubt someone sang for her....im sure it was her...becuz she sucked!!!! no one would sing as bad as she did...haha....eventho....i dont know if anyone noticed when britney spears lip synched in her shows...even her recording sucked! it was funny.

I have to say that hers was one of the most embarassing performances I have ever witnessed-but I was like a nervous parent watching their child, hoping that they would at least make it through. Wonder if she was in denial about how awful she was. Her Nowadays was touching-and she fit the part to a tee as far as a no talent dreaming of making it in show biz. She was so amateurish- but god love her- she sold out for her entire run.
Okay, so I never saw her in Chicago. BUT I loved her to death in Working Girl, and she actually reminded me of Shirley in the Sweet Charity movie. Am I the only one who saw this 'connection'?

Melanie definitely sang everything herself.... unfortunately

Brantley gave her a rave review for it, too. He said something like "now we finally have a Roxie as untalented as Roxie should be."
Here is said review. Even more positive than I remembered.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again....Melanie Griffith has NO BUSINESS performing on Broadway!!
Ha..thanks guys..I wonder where I heard that!? Maybe I heard "Someone SHOULD have sang for her" :)
Oh, Melanie... Oh dear.
Well, I don't want to offend any of her fans, but that phony, talentless cow is the only actress I really hate with a fierce passion !
HAHAHA!! you made me laugh greek!! :)
Glad to be of service, Steph !
The one and only time I saw Chicago was with Melanie and it hurt so bad that I don't want to go back! JK. She was awful but Deidre Goodwin and Brent Barrett more than made up for it. And we got a very funny FB spoof of her, too.
"Everybody, come to Broadway on Broadway and see major movie start Melanie Griffith sit on Brent Barrett's knee and move her lips!"
