I guess pretty much ANY memorabilia would be considered useless. They joy you get is from collecting rare items or items that make you remember a great night or theatre or show you loved. For a while I was a big memorabilia junkie and purchased a lot of vintage items on eBay. For a while I bought posters of my favorite shows and then got cast members to sign them. I eventually ran out of wall space in my room, so I had to rotate the posters on a regular basis..LOL. Some of the cool items I have are a set of playbills from the 1940's that include the original
Oklahoma!,
Carousel, and Ethel Merman in
Annie Get Your Gun. I also have a playbill from the show
Hold On To Your Hats autographed by its star, Al Jolson (probably my favorite item). I also have many signed souvenir programs and playbills from numerous productions. Yeah all of these things are useless and spend 99% of the time locked in a steamer trunk...but I am glad I have them!!!!
