So I take it students from the Tisch Program are in this..
Can you look in the program for a ..

This is a production of the Steinhardt School of Music, and not the Tisch School of the Arts, I believe.
However, it may be a co-production.
Now that I've attended a production I can clarify. According to the program,
"NYC Steinhardt
Music and Performing Arts Professions
Program in Vocal Performance Presents"

Oh, I see.
Well when the Tisch program does put on a show. I'd be curious if this girl is in it.

I agree with you Talent is talent. I have seen some horrible "professional" actors on Broadway, and I have seen Brilliant actors performing in the basement of community church. You should see theatre anywhere. Not just Broadway.

Very highly recommend this production. Only 1 performance left, tomorrow, Sunday, 10/2, at 3pm.
They use the script from the 1994 production at the York Theatre, and it's the most cohesive of the productions I've seen.
The 3 leads are superlative: Ryan Dricoll (Kringas), Chris Fitzgerald (Shephard) and Lauren Marcus (Mary Flynn). Another standout is Erica Rowlett as Gussie Carnegie. The onstage orchestra played, under music director Josh Clayton, played the hell out of Sondheim's score. The entire evening was directed by John Simpkins, with a smooth elegance and clarity that makes the show work.
The score gets more brilliant every time one hears it. In retrospect one can also discern patchs of songs from songs from other Sondheims shows: SWEENEY, PACIFIC and WOODS. It's a lovely delight to be able to pick those out, like a puzzle.
"Old Friends," "Not A Day Goes By," "Good Thing Going." Each one a gem of a song, and sung to perfection by this terrific cast.
Drop all you Sunday plans and get thee down to the Frederick Loewe Theatre on East 4th Street.
You will be glad you did.
I just got back and must enthusiastically second Jose on this. It was great! Go see it, if you can, tommorow afternoon.
The cast is great, especially the three leads. I love the set and direction, and it is so spectacular to hear this score with a live orchestra.
The score is so great and they do such a great job with it, when they did "Old Friends" I was sobbing. I also must say my earlier objections to the book were really off, the book really served the show well, and was very funny.

Why didn't I see you in the audience, smartpenguin?
Contrary to what some people seem to believe, I am not in fact a stuffed penguin. Apparently some find that a shock.
I am a short guy with square glasses and crazy hair, so maybe you did see me.

Hmmmm. Sounds like the guy sitting in front of me.
Oops, sorry if it was me and I blocked your veiw. I was in the middle of the middle section, about 5 rows from the door.

Hmmmm. It might have been you.
I was in the middle of the middle section, 3 seats in from the right aisle.
There was a guy, not as tall as me, sitting in front of me, he had crazy hair, I think, and small rectangular glasses. I remember that because before the show started he kept turning around and looking at the back of the house.
There was no door near me, however, unless you mean the door behind us.

It was the guy sitting next to the guy who might have been you who blocked my view whenever the action moved to stage right. He was quite tall as was his campanion.
I don't remember looking around at the back of the house, but I get angsty waiting for shows to start, so I may have done that. I certainly have rectangular glasses. The guy in front of me totally blocked the view of all things to stage right as well.
My hair is shoulder length and and wavy. I was directly in the middle of the row though. I think maybe the 5th seat from the left.
I am seeing the show tomorrow. Probably the show that I loved the longest without ever seeing performed. I finally saw it last year (two years ago?) by the Gallery Players in Park Slope, and loved finally seeing the staging and chronology put in place. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, as well.
How does the reservation/seating thing work? Do I need to get there way early? The whole "leave a message after the beep and we won't call you back" thing makes me a little (a lot) tense.

Well, we figured out two things.
1. We were not in proximity of one another.
2. We both thought highly of the terrific production of MERRILY.
So, everyone else, you probably won't find smartpenguin or me at the remaining performance tomorrow, but that should NOT keep you away from this highly enjoyable production.
Do go!
Upcoming productions include:
THE APPLE TREE (in November)
THE MERRY WIDOW
INTO THE WOODS
Catch you at the next one, penguin!
[NOTE: I am not in any way associated with this production, nor the people who made it happen.]
It would be a lot easier if you were just a stuffed penguin.
My friend played K.T.
Definitely Jose. That was fun though.
I loved it as well, everyone should go. I also have no ties to the production.
I will definately be at INTO THE WOODS, Jose. Maybe the others as well.

Very true, Meagan.
penguin, why weren't you a penguin?
K.T.? What part was that? I see her name in the cast, I don't recal the part.
I'm going to try to get down there tomorrow, if I can get this frecking paper written...you know, the one that caused me to start the Sherie Rene Appreciation Thread...
K.T. is the reporter that is interviewing them as they have their fight.
I'll try to bring the penguin next time I guess, or transform back into him, I thought I was finished with those days.
That's great Meagan, K.T. and the rest of the ensemble were very good as well.

Oh yes. Right!
She was funny in that scene. She is also seen as the interviewer outside the courthouse during the Shepard vs. Shephard divorce trial, and is in the ensemble.
Yeah...obviously she's my friend and I think she's amazing, but this wasn't a show that I went to and only liked it because she was in it...I just LOVED this production!
Damn - I was really looking forward to the possibility of seeing Merrily. It's been quite a while since I've seen a production of that brilliant show. I guess I'll have to somehow take your word for it!
