Has anyone seen The Metal Children? I did a quick search, but didn't see much about it on this board.

"I thought that that was just going to be a like one shot deal for me, you know, but they kept talking about it like, 'when we do the production, when we do the production', and I was like, 'yes, yes, when you do the production, cool, I will come and see it'". - John Gallagher Jr. on SA

There's an article in the Times today

I saw it last week and REALLY enjoyed it. It definitely makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. I didn't love the writing of Phoebe Strole's character, and I don't think she acted it well either. Otherwise, I found the whole thing fantastic. And Billy Crudup is giving a stellar performance. (Probably my favorite leading off-Broadway performance I have seen this year).

That piece in the Times really sparked my interest. Is this still scheduled to only run through June 13?

I actually saw the play in the Lincoln Square Barns And Nobel and read it in one sitting it was that good. I couldn't wait to see it and I did a couple of weeks ago. I LOVED it. It was very well written and very well acted all around. And, I will be making a return trip to The Vineyard to see it again for sure. In some ways it did remind me of The Pillowman. In fact, when I was outside during intermission, another patron asked how I was enjoying the show. I told him that I was loving it and asked me if I thought if this reminded me of The Pillowman, we both found it funny that we were thinking the exact thing.

I saw it a couple of Sundays ago. Overall I liked the writing and most of the acting, but I felt like the ending felt tacked on or possibly even incomplete. I'm not sure it's the kind of play you walk away from going "OMG I loved that!" Not exactly a feel-good kind of thing. But it's definitely well written. With the possible exception of the ending, which as I said, to me felt tacked on and/or incomplete.
