Hey everyone,

I'm doing my dissertation for my degree on social and economical influences on vocal stylings used in Musical Theatre and was wondering if anyone had any information on this and possible links. I know it has a lot to do with the development of amplification but if anyone has any solid and good info, I would be very grateful!

Willard Curtis (Bill) Merrill Pioneering Sound Designer introduced the 1st Wireless Microphone into the Broadway Theater.

Look this gentleman up. He was one of the pioneers of sound amplification on Broadway. He passed away, I think back in 2012. His Obit can be found on the web, and there, you can see his credits and they talk about his contribution to sound amplification. I also believe there is a more in depth interview with him somewhere on the web also that I once read. Hope this helps.
