Yeah, so it happens, I don't want to start anything but it didn't say anything about JLY missing peformances because the poor guy was sick! (John if you see this I'm glad you are better :) ) Big deal if people drop out, broadway is not easy.

Lori: Thanks for giving the idealists view of Broadway. Try paying top dollar for seats when you have an annual visit, and then listen to sob-sisters make excuses for these highly paid, pretencious artists.
Bravo to The Post for exposing one small component of this Charade!

On this board, you can always get the eltist view
the liberal view
the reactionary view
and the NY Times view expressed many times over by parroting sycophants
let freedom ring
let the realists speak, let common sense prevail
let a voice of reason, authentic and chanticleer
sing from the mountain tops
and that's one thousand more for the road...

'If you want a guarantee that someone will play a certain part when and where you want it, no problems to be had, watch a movie. You're dealing with real people in live theater, not images on a screen that will stop and start and be there for you at will. People will get sick, things will happen. Things that are not all about entitled fans.'
Well stated BillyGoatGirl.
Defending the 'stars' or stating the facts, whatever way you look at it... it's the truth. This is theatre. Real people. Real lives. Real problems. You want robots on stage?

Does anyone know authoritatively: is JLY playing most or all of his shows right now?

Who are the other understudies or alternate for the Broadway Frankie Valli?
#112
Posted: 6/23/07 at 11:40pm
Michael is the alternate Frankie Valli. He performs for the Wednesday and Saturday matinees. Michael, Travis Cloer, and Matt Scott are the Frankie understudies.
John is taking a vacation for the next two weeks, I believe, and then Daniel takes his the week after.

How would you rank the different Fankie Valli's performace in general?
From what I have seen on the 1st and 2nd tours....
Here's my ranking :P
1. Chris Jones-1st tour
2. Jarrod Spector-2nd tour
3. John Dias-2nd Tour
4. Rick Faugno-1st tour
Other Frankies that I still have to see from tours are:
1st: Sternberg, Simmons
2nd: Goldsmith, Copolla
and all the Frankies from the Broadway cast :P

I've only seen two Frankies, actually. I've been lucky to see John Lloyd Young 13 times as Frankie, and Michael Longoria once. John is such a terrific actor in the part, and a great singer, too, but I have never seen a better "Can't Take My Eyes off of You" than Michael's. So, John first for me, and Michael second.

When is John Lloyd Young on vacation? I have tickets for July 13...I was really hoping to see him again.

John was in the show tonight, August 8. He was wonderful.
As was suggested by another poster a year ago, there is now an ANNOUNCED schedule of when Longoria plays!
To think, this is the post that started the whole thing.
