Michelle Ferderer

Could she pull off Janet in Drowsy Chaperone, if not what about Susan Egan?

re: Michelle Ferderer

Who cares?

And, your thread title is wrong. Make it more topic specific.

re: Michelle Ferderer

I know Susan could do it singing/acting/dancing wise(might be too old though), but I have no idea if Michelle can dance since I've only seen her in the chair.

re: Michelle Ferderer

I've never seen Michelle dance so I'm not sure, but I think she's an amazing actress and singer. I'm not sure if she's right for the part though. I'd want to see her as Belle. BTW. It's Federer

re: Michelle Ferderer

I think Michelle wouldn't be able to spread that warmth and enjoyment that Sutton does. I can see Susan, however.

I would really love to see Rachel York get the role.

re: Michelle Ferderer

Susan isn't that much older than Sutton. Anyway it doesn't matter. Susan already said Millie was her farewell to ingenue roles.

By the way, that's not her name.

re: Michelle Federer

You may want to change her name to Federer.

For some reason I can't picture her as Janet Van de Graaf. Then again, it's probably because I've only seen her in a much colder role, so it's hard to judge.

re: Michelle Federer

Do you think, she will be typed cast now because of that?

re: Michelle Federer

I think Sarah Gettelfinger could do a great job with this role. She just exudes glamour to me.

re: Michelle Federer

GClef2 - I agree! I don't think Sara gets enough recognition for her part in DRS because it's so small, but I think she would be awesome as Janet.

As for Michelle being typecasted, I'm not sure, but I think once you're in a role for that long in such a popular show it kinda gets stuck in your head that she's Nessa and Nessa just happens to cold. However I do hope she gets cast in something else that shows her range of emotions.

re: Michelle Federer

Sarah Gettelfinger would indeed be great!

re: Michelle Federer

Wasn't she Julia's understudy in Three Days Rain? Did anyone see her in that?

re: Michelle Federer

She was and as far as I know, she never went on. most people went to the show to see Julia and I'd imagine if she wasn't in it, they'd cancel the show

re: Michelle Federer

Don't look for Susan to be returning to Broadway anytime soon. She's starting a family..with her first little bundle of joy due in February.

re: Michelle Federer

And not to be a jerk...but how soon we forget what happened the last time Susan Egan took over a Sutton Foster role.
Yes that's me. No, it's not a Rent homage.

re: Michelle Federer

I think that both Rachel York and Sara Gettlefinger would be great as Janet, but the perfect person for the part in my opinion is Lauren Kennedy. She has alot of the same qualities that make Sutton so good as Janet, and I can really see her doing a great job with it.

Federer just doesn't seem like the right fit to me. I'd love to see her as Sister James in "Doubt," though.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

re: Michelle Federer

I cant see Michelle as Janet, but definitely as Belle
and I think Sara or Rachel would be pretty good as Janet...I think I stereotyped them too much from their DRS roles :P
