SIR CAMERON MACKINTOSH is hoping to make a movie of hit stage show MISS SAIGON if the upcoming big screen version of LES MISERABLES is a success.
While I do think Les Mis will be a successful film, it really really depend on HOW successful it is. And even then, it's still probably a big "if". But I do think Miss Saigon lends itself to film even more strongly than Les Mis. Even the original staging was highly cinematic.

Why not? A Mexican looking prostitute with a R&B voice and "Jennifer Hudson sound" will make a nice contrast to the Lea Salonga-type of voice that should play Kim.
He will not cry, he will not think He'll do his dance, he'll make them drink When he makes love, it won't be he And if they hurt him, he'll just close his eyes And see The Jake G in his mind He dreams to give him head If they can't have a date He'll see his show instead
He'll see the matinee And then come back at night To blow after the play Dream The dream he has to find The Jake G in his mind
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
