a) the show isn't that good

b) Lea's too old, and I think would be unwilling to do Kim (I think it's fine if it's someone else, but don't get your hopes up) just due to schedule and wanting to pu tit behind her

c)It hasn't been gone long enough to be missed

It really shouldn't be performed in high schools/community theatre. It just doesn't work.

I think the show is amazing, better than Les Mis in my opinion.

maybe Lea could play the part of Ellen in the revival instead.....

dye her hair blonde and some make-up....

as for Lea's tight schedule:

I read that she is supposed to tour with Broadway Asia's Cinderella in Southeast Asia after Les Miz....just haven't heard any confirmation yet.

In my opinion, Les Miserables is better. But the show always had a place in my heart(so cheezy! re: Miss Saigon Revival ), because it opened my eyes to theater world as a kid. I remember watching the endless features regarding the show in the Philippines before. It was really big news. So I really do hope they bring it back, or make a new recording, a concert will be fine re: Miss Saigon Revival

Ellen doesn't have to be blonde so, if Lea would play it, she doesn't have to dye her hair or wear a wig. There was quite a number of Asian actresses who have played and alternated the role. It added more twist to the plot. Here's some of them that I recall:

1. Margaret Gates, Broadway
2. Charlene Carabeo, Broadway
3. Menchu Lauchengco, Manila
4. Cornilla Luna, UK Tour

The play too has a special place in my heart, mainly because of the love story, tragic ending, score (except for some lyrics), staging, and cast. I would personally wait a few years more before voting to revive it since the UK and US tour ended recently, and with the Australian production that just opened in Melbourne and a new production in Korea. But if they did, I wouldn't mind seeing it again. As long as they make the staging better than the recent tour.

As for Lea's schedule in Cinderella, it has been officially confirmed for next year opening in Manila first. See link below.

For the actresses I have seen who have played Kim, the following top my list:

1. Lea Salonga
2. Joan Almedilla
3. Jennifer Paz
4. Christina Paras
5. Ima Castro

Favorite scenes: Sun and Moon, Dju Vui Vay, Confrontation with Thuy, Kim's Nightmare, Sun and Moon Reprise, Room 317, Finale.
