Moonie - Just back from Sweeney!

It was...wonderful!

First off, Patti Lupone was just fabulous. As was Cerveris. Really liked the actors as the orchestra. It was directed really well. I fell in love with the guy playing Tobias (don't feel like getting out my playbill at the moment).

Negatives- The set was a little...conflicted. They were going for a minimalist thing, but there was too much of a set for that. Also, at the end of each act, after a blackout, they brought the lights back up, and we saw the actors walk out...a little trashy...

Overall- Well, Fabulous! Everyone go get tickets.

Ciao from NYC!

Yay moonie!
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

That is something that will be worked out during previews. I am sure it will be fixed by tomorrow's performance. The SM is probably still getting the timing down.

Glad you are having a good time in NYC.

Actually, it wasn't a flub. As far as I could see, it was meant to be that way. It wasn't a stage manager asleep at the book.

It wasn't a flub. It was that way in London. They actually didn't have a curtain in London at all. If anything, I think they should cut that here as well.

Is this show being done Brechtian?

Over_The_Moon...like touchmeinthemoring suggested, maybe they were going for a Brechtian thing with the whole seeing the actors exit?

Brecht liked to remind his audiences that what they were seeing was a show...

Da*n him and his last name! No, just kiddin--he was good as Hinckley--I bet he's great here as well--and he probably learned the score in the womb.
