You beat me to it, so I just changed the thread I started to "Delete".
Thanks for posting this! I'm glad to see some of you are already excited. It's going to be a lot fun and Mr. Bicknell has given us his blessings. We're thinking about doing this 40's B-Movie style and just having a ton of fun with it.
And yessiree, growl, I love me some trash and flops. :)
This sort of thing is really much more fun when done drunk in your living room with your own friends...
But then, what isn't?

Don't be a party pooper. I think a lot of people will have a fun time -- we're definitely going to play up the farce of it and make it just a real good time. Hope to see some of you there! And thanks to Playbill for the shout-out!
This is one of my only Playbills I have ever put in a frame. It was one of those nights of theatre that you just can't believe what you have just watched onstage.

I was at one of the two performances that Eve Arden did. The funniest part of it was the stunned looks on the audience's faces during intermission.

That's great theatertrash! I'm definitely going to come see you guys in action.

Check out our teaser trailer to see how much fun we plan to have! We don't expect to fix it, but just to show it some love, have a bunch of laughs and have a great time. Arthur Bicknell is a great sport who's been in touch and super supportive. Sweet guy!

I realize this is heresy, but I honestly don't remember MOOSE MURDERS being all bad. But as much as I adore her, casting Holland Taylor (and I assume Eve Arden before her) was a head scratcher. The play wants to be balls-to-the-walls farce, not dry humor.
I'm still not sure anyone can make the homicidal-gunman-dressed-as-a-moose scene work, but if I were in New York, I'd give it another visit.

Oh, it's truly not that bad at all. The last half hour is wacky as hell, but Issa reading it a month or so on the subway laughing so hard my sides hurt. Snooks is one funny, funny character.

Yup, I saw the original production and kept a reading copy of it in my desk when I was directing school productions. Whenever a kid came up to me with that ever-present comment, "We should do______(insert musical of your choice)", I'd hand them MOOSE MURDERS and tell them it was our next show. They'd read it and keep their mouths shut about what plays we should or should not do.

A friend of mine had comps to a preview of the show in 1983. I think he got them through one of his teachers at NYU who was somehow involved with the show. I was invited but turned him down because I had an exam I needed to study for.
To this day, I still regret not seeing the play.

bobs3, I doubt MOOSE MURDERS would have achieved "legendary flop" status without its unforgettable, yet nonsensical title.
It wasn't good enough OR bad enough to merit a lifetime of regret.
This play takes me back. I remember walking by the Eugene O'Neill and staring at that insanely funny logo on the marquee on the way to school thinking, "What the fvck is this show about?"
It didn't last too long though, next thing I knew I passed by and a revival of Tennessee Williams' THE GLASS MENAGERIE took it's place.
This looks like a lot of fun and I'm going to try to make it. I see they are also planning on staging HENRY SWEET HENRY as well, that's awesome!

Dollypop, that's hilarious. I might have to try that some time. My go-to answer for irritating parents is telling them it's the show we're doing or Oh! Calcutta! That shuts them up real quick.
