I don't think we'll see any OBC members if we don't see all of them. Most have said in interviews that they wouldn't go back unless they all did it together.

I think Eden Espinosa would be great for mimi, someone said queen latifa (sp?) for Joanne...I think that would be BRILLIANT. I could see Wayne Brady playing Collins nicely. Jai would be fabulous for Angel, I wouldn't mind John Stamos as Roger...too bad he's not 20 years younger because she's hot stuff Maggie Benjamin is INCREDIBLE as Maureen. I would love to see hre cast. I think Usher would probably be good as Benny. As far as Mark goes...I don't really have any ideas. I would like to see Chris Fitzgerald have a shot, I think he could do Mark nicely.

**BIG BUMP**

Seeing as the movie has wrapped up principal photography and it is now in post-production I thought I'd bump this thread up so members could read comments made by BWW members a little over a year ago when the movie was first announced.

In light of everything that has happened, who finally got cast, etc, it makes for a fun read.

Casting most of the major roles with the OBC was pretty amazing. I can remember that even after there were legitimate news reports about it, some people refused to believe it could be true. Now of course it almost seems like an inevitability.

Ya it's kinda funny how no one thought any of the Original Broadway Cast would be cast in the movie! Boy were we wrong!

That was an amusing read.

It makes me realize, again, how absolutely grateful we should be for getting the original cast for this. I can't imagine any of the suggested names thrown out there in this movie. We are so lucky to end up with what we have!

I'm so grateful that Chris cast the OBC cast, because it could have just as easily have gone to a bunch of "pop" stars and it would have butchered the show for me. I love that... and thanks for bringing it out again... wow I can't believe that it's all over and done with filming.
