"I Speak Six Languages" from Spelling Bee. It's not nails-on-a-chalkboard, but it gets so annoying.

"Sentimental Man" from Wicked. Essentially anything the Wizard (or Morrible) sing.

"You Should Be in That" (or whatever it's called) from The Battery's Down. Not from a musical, but still.

While I love Sondheim, Company generally drives me crazy. I hate the "Bobby" repeats throughout.

Almost all of The Fantasticks.

Anything Ramona Mallory sings. So irritating. I saw her in both The Fantasticks and Night Music. That woman...

I second Zoser's songs in Aida. Ugh.

- "No Time At All" from Pippin just drags on and on for me.
- "Timeless to Me" from Hairspray is cute but at least when I saw the show it seemed like they really overplayed the "hahaha get it the woman's really a man" joke and by the end I was like "OKAY can we just move on please?" I like it in the movie though, so maybe it was just the production I saw.
- "Dancing Through Life" from Wicked I think can get really annoying. I also second all of The Wizard's and Madame Morrible's songs.
- "Masquerade" from Phantom
- "What a Game" from Ragtime - I can tolerate it, but I don't really like it
- Pretty much all of the songs in The Lion King that weren't in the original movie, especially "Morning Report" and "Chow Down"

"Dog Eat Dog" from LES MIZ -- WTF is that?!
CHOW DOWN is dreadful. I also can't stand HE COULD GO AND HE COULD SHINE from Billy Elliot, and CRIME OF THE CENTURY from Ragtime.

I don't really like the song "Something Bad" from Wicked.

What do you mean? It's pretty straightforward for the scene, the story and the character.

I forgot all of Billy Elliot. Come on, Elton- what were you thinking?

He was probably thinking about how to write a hit musical, which he did quite successfully. And with his best score to date.

"No More" from INTO THE WOODS. Puts me right to sleep.

"Sun and Moon" and "If You Want To Die In Bed" from Miss Saigon. In a show filled with power ballads, these two songs don't cut it.

"The way Shipoopi is built into the show, it is actually quite ingenious. And I love Iowa Stubborn! It really sets the stage for the attitude of the town and the challenge to be met by Harold Hill. Like the Ascot Gavotte, it is a costume parade, but it also builds on the foundation of the exposition. If the songs seem to be the worst material in the show, then there probably was no good director on hand. The Music Man can be GOLD, but it has to be mined. And a good production will illustrate how astonishing the material really is."

Mister Matt, I know I'm gonna sound incredibly hypocritical but I agree with you about Music Man being GOLD. I've been in a production of Music Man where I definitely felt they mined the gold. But I just don't care for the ensemble numbers.

Also, I LOVE Zoser's songs in Aida!
