The hills are alive with THS SOUND OF MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On My Own

Broadway Baby.
At least it's the most overdone Sondheim number.
Definitely agree with ->
On my Own
Tomorrow
All that Jazz
Going to be on this list very very soon ->
Defying Gravity.
Definitely "Broadway Baby".
In terms of auditions: I actually disagree about "Tomorrow" = that was at one time the MOST overdone song at auditions, but perhaps because of that, nobody on the professional circuit ever sings it anymore. Same goes for "Memory." I actually wouldn't mind hearing those.
From my time sitting behind the desk as a casting assistant five years ago-- these were the songs I heard more then anything else:
"Anthem" from Chess
"Unexpected Song" from Song and Dance
"On My Own" from Les Miz
"Hold On" from The Secret Garden
"Ice Cream" and "Try Me" from She Loves Me
"Show Me" from My Fair Lady
I imagine you could probably add "Defying Gravity" and "The Wizard and I" to that list now.

I've heard enough of "Home" from The Wiz at auditions too.
Send in the Clowns (YAWN!!!!!)
What I Did For Love
*crinches at all the bad renditions of defying gravity out there* OUCH!!
Ha! I agree..so many of these are going to be overdone in 3005.
So my list
~ Tomorrow
~ over the rainbow
~on my own
~ pretty much anything from the Sound of Music
~ ALREADY added to my list...Defying Gravity,(and)
~The Wizard and I,
~For Good,
~Popular
That's all I can think of at the moment, but I was thinking...pretty much any song you can find in your run-of-the-mill Broadway Anthology that you can get at a music store seems to be overdone, at least to me...maybe I just have crappy anthologies.
New York, New York isn't officially a showtune because it was written for the film NEW YORK, NEW YORK and not for the musical theater.
I think the most overdone:
What I Did For Love from A CHORUS LINE
Tomorrow from ANNIE
Leading Actor Joined: 5/16/03
for kids:
"Castle on a Cloud" - "Les Miserables"
This Is the Moment
All That Jazz
Anthem
She Loves Me
