My guess would be "My Funny Valentine." It always seems to be included when folks record a CD of standards.

None of you are correct.
We had a similar thread and search in the first year of Broadwayworld.com.
The most record show score is Gershwin's PORGY AND BESS.
It is highly likely, therefore, that "Summertime" may be the most recorded show song.
Why? you might ask yourself. Because of the numerous pop and jazz interpretations of the score, and I would imagine the song.
Having done the research at the time, I will venture to through out that the number of indiviual recordings of the score is somewhere in the range of 260, if my memory serves me. I'd have to research it again.
ah!!! Thank you Jose, that makes sense too.

260+ Whah? Must have been too much caffiene this am.
But PORGY AND BESS is correct.
Here's the quiz from the first summer of BWW.com were we tackled this question.
Broadway Puzzler #24 - Most recordings of a show score

Are we discussing most recorded "score" or most recorded "song"? If we are discussing the most recorded song I would think that when you include in all the solo recordings and compilation albums that there would be other songs that would trump any one song from Porgy and Bess. However, if we are discussing which score has been recorded the most times then Porgy wins hands down. Of course, Summertime may still come out on top because I have heard it on many recordings.
Tommorow
I was actually thinking Music of the Night or Memory - but I was just thinking based on Broadway performer solo cds -- both seem to be on ever compilation or solo cd since their shows started (since Cats was first, I would say Memory).
Going to other styles of music, I would have thought one of the older songs - Gershwin, Porter - something like that -- Summertime definitely makes sense though.
Oh when I said tommorow I thought you meant like most well known or somthing.

Les Mis has 6 English recordings (not counting the highlights)
OBC
OLC
CSR
TAC
Manchester
(Hopefully no one points out that the only Manchester recording is a highlights of the production. But since there isn't a full recording, it counts!)
Plus there are highlights of the CSR and OBC (is there one for the OLC?)
