I have complained. A lot. xD And I have tried to force my ideas on my school director. I have talked on stage when I am not saying any lines or anything. During rehersals I sometimes sang along with the person currently singing. I should work on that if I ever want to get any theatre work. xD

The worst I've done was yell at the stage crew during a final dress rehearsal of my high school's production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie." I was a typist and we had to wheel ourselves off-stage in our desks. About twenty people in the wings and no one could let us bring six bulky noise makers to their positions. So I basically called them all pieces of s**t and made sure my friend was there to do it for us the next time.

I've seen many unprofessional things. Some lead don't show up until twenty minutes before the show starts, with the excuse "I fell asleep." During a dress rehearsal of "High School Musical," the girl who was Martha screamed B***h at the end of "...Status Quo." Everybody lost it, including our director. Nothing too bad, but it was hysterical as hell.

This isn't about me but I was doing the lights for my school's production of "The Wizard of Oz" about 2 weeks ago & a friend of mine showed up completely trashed. She was able to hide it from all three of the directors all night.

alright, two things:
#1:
I was an ASM for Sordid Lives, and one of my best friends was playing GW. in the bar scene, we had bottles of non-alcoholic beer - new ones every night, so the actors could "really" open them. on the final performance, the propmaster & I decided that we were going to replace some of the non-alcoholic beer with REAL beer. we also decided that only GW was going to drink it. we let the other actors on stage know, and sat back to see what happened. it was HILARIOUS. during the scene, we were sitting backstage when we heard a strangled cough - GW had taken his first drink. the poor kid had to drink like four of them, and when he came backstage after his scene, he was a little wasted.
#2:
a year ago (to the day, practically) I was an ASM (again) for Sweet Charity. my 21st birthday was the day our run ended, and we had a matinee and an evening show, with about four hours inbetween. well, half the cast decided to take me to a local Mexican restaurant between shows and buy me all kinds of drinks. by the time we got back to the theater, two hours to places, I was pretty sloshed. however, I figured I'd be fine by showtime. I did NOT expect my kick ass SM to present me with a HUGE bottle of Parrot Bay rum, which we proceeded to take MANY shots of on the load-in dock with the other ASM, the sound board operator and Daddy Brubeck. I don't think I've had as much fun doing a show as I did that night.

Um, in high school I had a really bad stomach virus and was a student on the barricades in Les Mis. My director asked me to lay on the stairs in a kind of uncomfortable angle when I died, and I told her I would but that I still wasn't feeling well and would rather not do it at that rehearsal. She got pissed off and told me a real theatre would have fired me. I think she was lying.

I considered showing up wasted a few times when I was running HSM. (It would have made changing Troy so much fun!) However, the closest I came to showing up drunk was when one of the crew members brought a "special drink" to work one day. He had in a glass, and I wanted to know what it was (because it looked like an average glass of orange juice). So he let me have a sip and then was like "I put vodka in there!"

Also, on the last night of The Producers, there was a champagne toast in the hallway. Right after, we had to start strike, so I downed my little cup of champagne. Let's just say that strike was the most fun I've ever had taking apart a show.
