As the title states, I am wondering what songs are out there in Musical Theatre land (Broadway, Off Broadway, Musical Songwriters) that are duets between mothers and sons. The only one I can think of on the top of my head is "See Me" from BARE. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Not biological mother and son, but Not While I'm Around shows the relationship as being similar to that type of relationship
I mean, there's the little part in the opening to INTO THE WOODS with Jack and his Mother but that's really all I can think of...
Weird.
That's not really a duet. I mean, it's staged for two people but not sung by two people except for that small little part in the middle.

Act 2 of john&jen has a few... (Little League, Talk Show, Graduation, Every Goodbye is Hello)
Others I can think of:
There is a Santa Claus from Elf
Wow.....there really aren't that many..... Interesting
I will keep looking
Come To My Garden / Lift Me Up from The Seacret Garden

Be Kind to Your Parents- Fanny
Momma, Momma- I Can Get It for You Wholesale
Make a Little Sunshine- Angel (Mother and two sons)
And aunt and nephew:
My Best Girl- Mame
One that comes to mind is "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" from HAIRSPRAY, though that is actually 3 mothers and 3 daughters plus an ensemble.
* Next To You from Bounce
* Mother's Gonna Make Things Fine from A New Brain
* Brand New World from Rags
* You'll Be In My Heart (Reprise) from Tarzan
* Hold Your Head Up High from Honk!
* A Home For You from Batboy
Not a duet, but a lovely song sung by mother to son:
* Whose Little Angry Man from Raisin

Not really a duet so much as two sides of a short song, but "All I Ever Wanted/Queen's Reprise" from THE PRINCE OF EGYPT.
"The Letter" from BILLY ELLIOT? So long as we're accepting Ghost Mothers... also Funmilayo's songs from FELA! but I doubt those are what we're looking for.
"I Whistle A Happy Tune" King and I
"Chrysanthemum Tea" Pacific Overtures
The mothers sing, respectively, to calm her son's fears and to explain why she is about to murder him.
In the first the son whistles and briefly joins his mother's optimistic anthem. In the second he grunts and yells loudly in quickfire hyper-enunciated Japanese.

Thanks all. The reason I started this thread is because I am looking for something for a Cabaret I am putting on, but it really is hard to find a legit mother/son song instead of two seperate plots....ideas.....whatever converging in one song. But, some of these are good. Thanks again =)
