This may be a dumb question but is Moulin Rouge a singalong? Ive read too many board posts and now Im unclear.

Of course if the cast encourages it at curtain call thats one thing...but is the full show like this? I know my husband would hate it if the full show is a singalong...

Any clarity would be appreciated before buying tickets for our trip in November...thank you!

Thanks for clarifying! That I can get behind!

With the price tag I just wanted to be sure.

Oh lord...a sing along would end me.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Same.

My husband is a good enough sport for tagging along...just didn’t want to put him in a 2.5 hr torture chamber at the Hirschfeld.

With that price tag, I'd skip it.  Just in case.

When I went there was lots of singing along. Not the whole time, but plenty of it during the big numbers. My audience was not shy about joining in on the singing and dancing.

Ugh. Hate audience participation at Broadway shows. Just doesn’t seem “classy”, even if the show isn’t. Not that MR is either, just don’t like the idea of hearing my seat neighbors all around me belt out songs when I paid big money to see the folks on stage do that.
