Has anyone tried the rush yet for Mountaintop? I am thinking of going Friday and was wondering what the crowd has been like since they only have a limited amount of seats. Thanks!

I haven't done it yet, but a few people on the board reported back that they'd gotten rush tickets in back or side orchestra and hadn't gotten to the box office much before showtime. HOWEVER, I stopped by the box office just yesterday and according to the guy working there, it's subject to availability, no guarantees at all (which is what the Telecharge website says now) and to expect partial view and boxes.
Unless he's wrong, the producers have changed their tune on this since the early info they put out said that 20 "prime seats" for each performance would be available.
I realize that $34.50 is a terrific price for even a partial view seat, but they've sure backed off from their initial plan, which seemed to be aimed at giving folks who couldn't afford it a handful of good seats every day. It's, of course, their prerogative...
That sounds incredibly stupid. Why give it a press release if they are just gonna change it?
The day of the flea market, I was the second person on line and got box seats for the evening show.
Terrible view, by the way.
I also rushed the day of the Flea Market. There was a printed sign on the Box Office doors prior to its opening stating that "There may be more than 20 rush tickets available for each performance today." I didn't get on the line until about 11:40am and got two tickets in the last row of the Orchestra for the matinee.
Perfectly fine. The mezzanine overhang didn't impede as far as I could tell.

Funny...I also bought rush tickets the day of the Flea Market. I walked up to the box office around 4:30 or 5, and there was no line. I asked if they had any rush tickets available, and they gave me front row center. My friend and her mother who were in line behind me, got 3rd row right.

I don't even understand why box seats are sold for any show. I think it's insulting to take a dime for them. Most times, especially with musicals and speakers set on the sides of prosceniums, you can see 40% of the stage.
And I realize it their perogative, but I hate when the producers turn around and say they make certain tickets to those in all price points, but just have to make the largest section of that the full-price, top price. It's just so disingenuous.

Wow, so to recap: of the three people who got rush tickets the day of the flea market, the first guy to get there got a crappy seat in a box; the next guy got not-too-bad back of orchestra; and the guy who waited till show time got front row center....lol!! Way to reward dedication...until this thread I was thinking about hitting this box office at the crack of dawn but obviously, that's not the idea with these producers.

Maybe it's like what they did for Jerusalem. I had to endure an awful view from a box seat for one act when I rushed it, but when they would consistently allot the first row for rush other times.

It does sound like the Jerusalem situation. This is from playbill.com:
The Mountaintop
General Rush: $34.50 - twenty same-day prime tickets per performance will be available each day when the box office opens. Limit 2 tickets per person. Cash or credit card.
It bothers me more that they'd put this out here and not go through with it than if they decided not to have a rush at all.
Will it still be this easy to get rush tickets to in Early November??
I went this morning to the rush. I got in line at around 9 o'clock. I was the last person to receive the last pair of tickets. The guy behind me did in fact get the last ticket, so I would get to the theater at around 8:30 to guarantee tickets.
And for what it's worth, my seats are Row F 113 and 114 in the mezz
I went on Wednesday afternoon. A few friends went over the weekend. We all got tickets in the rear mezz. Seems that all 3 days the last two rows were full but rows E through H in the odd and even sections were totally empty. One of my friends said they let people move down. When I went, they would not. One woman moved down on her own and the usher made her move back up to her seat. I would suspect that these seats are going to be sold as word gets out about the show but it seems they could have used these sections for rush tickets.

I rushed Mountaintop during previews and ended up in a box stage left. I really can't complain at all, I missed maybe 30 seconds total of the show. I got there on Saturday around 11 and was about 15 people back and easily got tickets for the matinee.
Also, the day I went, the stars didn't come out. It was also raining though, which may have affected their decision to come out as well as it being a matinee. I heard they most of the time come out.

Has anyone rushed this show more recently than the previous posts? Just wandering how availability is and if the seats are the same as described here.
I rushed last weekend and got the box seats too and I think everybody in the rush line got boxes. The order they give the tickets in doesn't seem to correlate to which are the better of the box seats though.
