BIG-HIT
BIG The MUSICAL -FLOP
THE FULL MONTY WAS NOT A FLOP ON BROADWAY
If it came out any other time (the producers) it would have been a hit
I also liked Big but it cam out when Rent came out
and everyone was looking for something new and found it
and Big suffered for it I think

Nights of Cabiria - Sweet Charity (hits both)
King of Hearts (movie: not quite a hit/cult - musical: flop)
La Strada (movie: hit - musical: one performance flop)
Seventh Heaven (movie: hit - musical: flop)
Blue Angel - Pousse Cafe (movie: hit - musical: flop)
Carnival In Flanders (movie: hit - musical: flop)

I wanted to inject some European flavor into this thread. And, yes, I realize that Seventh Heaven was not a European produced film but it is set in Paris.
