I think that ET and Harry Potter are in the cards for future Broadway Musicals. What are your choices?

Please, PLEASE say you're kidding. I do not want to see either of those movies onstage ever. EVER.

Am I supposed to suggest movies? I won't, just to spite you.

It seems as though ET would be great family theatre. Why would Speilberg approve of the Colored Purple to becoming a musical and not a natural like ET?

I can hear a song from HARRY POTTER in my head now.

"I hate puberty.
First there were spells
Now there are girls.
Can't keep my mind off of them
Their big breasts and hair full of curls"

And for ET:

"Home.
Somewhere out there someone waits for me.
Home.
Where I can see my mom and climb that special tree.
Home.
Where my past lies all in pieces.
Home.
F**k it.
Here, I have recess."

from Harry Potter...

Fame (reprise)

Harry (to Ron):
I hope that we'll be friends...
Though, I don't know you well...
If anyone can make the most of any magic spell
it's me, not you!
But, who knows...
you may find
fame here too...

From Harry Potter:

Song: Quidditch Game One: "I hope You're Happy"/"Outsmarting Gravity"

Harmonie:
Harry. You're the only first year ever to make the team. Aren't you afraid?

Harry:
No. It's the other team that should be afraid. Of me.

Harmonie:
I hope you're happy. I hope you're happy now. I hope you're happy, now that you've changed the rules forever! I hope you think you're clever!

Harry:
I hope you're happy! I hope you're happy too! Now that you're jealous of my power, I hope you run a cower!

Both:
and though I can't imagine how... I hope you're happy ... right now...

Harmonie:
Harry, listen to me.
You can still be a great Wizard
What you've worked and waited for
You can have all you ever wanted...

Just stop with the quidditch.
You could get hurt.

Harry:
I know...
But I don't want it -
No - I can't want it
Anymore...

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing quidditch by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!

It's time to try
Outsmarting gravity
I think I'll try
Outsmarting gravity
And they can't win this game!

I'm through accepting limits
'Cuz someone says they're so
Some things I cannot catch
But till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing games I guess I've lost
Well, if that's fun
It comes at much too high a cost!
I'd sooner try
Outsmarting gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm outsmarting gravity
And you can't pull me down!

Ron:
Harry! What are you doing!?

Harry: It's too late! You can't stop me!

Ron: But, it's too dangerous!

Harry: I don't care! I'm gonna win!
It's me! It's meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

(Harry rises and his red robe extends all the way to the stage.)

So if you care to find me
Just look for the golden stitch!
As someone told me lately:
"Every Wizard in the world can fly!"
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me
Tell them how I am
Outsmarting gravity
I'm flying high
Outsmarting gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Hogwarts
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

Harmonie:
I hope he's happy...

(Harry catches the golden stitch)

Gryffindors:
Look at him, he caught it!
yeah!

Harry:
Bring me down!

Malfoy:
Get him!

Slytherin:
So we've got to bring him

Harry:
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Slytherin:
DOWN!!!!!!! Updated On: 9/7/04 at 12:42 AM

A few years ago, my friend and I were gonna write a musical version of A League of their Own. LOL seriously...

It was gonna be fabulous, I started writing a solo for Marla Hooch called What a Hitter! Needless to say I didn't finish lol

Yes that's me. No, it's not a Rent homage.

A group of friends and I were actually writing a Harry Potter musical/parody, which involved changing the lyrics to songs that already existed. I don't remember many of the songs, but I do know we had Harry singing "All That Spaz", where he sang about his scar hurting and rolling around on the floor and knocking tables down. It was great.

from Harry Potter:

"Fame"

Harry:
Yes, I made the choice
For myself, I have to stay
But I don't deserve to be treated in this way
Those monsters!
If you think that what you've done is right, well then
You're all fools!
Think again!

Is this fame?
Is this where I should learn to be happy?
Never dreamed
That fame could be dark and cold
I was told
Ev'ry day in my childhood:
Even when you grow old
Fame is a dream to waltz to
Never where words so false-too!
My heart's here
Here in Hogwarts
But, fame is too...

Is this home?
Is this what I must learn to believe in?
Try to find
Something good in this magic place?
Just in case
I should stay here forever
Held in this empty space
Oh, but that won't be easy
I know the reason why
They think I'm wise
They think I'm good
and that's a lie.

What I'd give to return
To the life that I knew lately
But I know that I can't
Go back to those tragic stairs!

Is this fame?
Am I famous today or forever?
Shut away
From my life until who knows when

Oh, but then
As my life has been altered once
It can change again
My parents are with me always
Though they're never here...
Nothing lasts, nothing holds
All of me
My heart's far, far away
Fame or just...
me!

ron and harmonie's love song...

"Magic Passing Through Our Eyes"

Ron:
Where are you from?

Harmonie:
I'm half mogle...

Ron:
Ah. The mogle world. The water's an entirely different color there.

Harmonie:
No, it's an entirely different color here.

Ron:
Fair enough.

Harmonie:
To fly away to half discovered places
To see the secrets so few eyes have seen
To see moments of enchantment on our faces
The moments when we smile and those in between

Ron:
If I could leave this place then I'd be flying
In my father's car I would go!
Sweet southern winds of liberty prevailing
A beauty so majestic and so free

Harmonie:
There'd be no ties of time and space to bind me

Ron:
And no magic spell you could not do

Harmonie:
I'd leave the world's misfortunes far behind me
I'd put my faith and trust in something new

Both:
But why should I tell you this?

Ron:
A stranger I just met

Harmonie:
A girly boy whom I hardly know and should forget

Both:
A journey we can only dream of
Magic passing through our eyes
And how is it I say these things
So easily to you

Harmonie:
I have to go.

(she exits)

Ron:
But why did I tell her this?
A stranger I've just met
A girl who I hardly know at all and will forget
Anonymous and gone tomorrow
Magic passing through her eyes
And all I've done is tell her things
she already knew
She knew ...She knew....

Voldemort the Musical

LOLOLOL.

That's MY kettle of fish.

Or a musical where the villain gets all the good songs and kills everyone in the end.

HARRY POTTER????

I guess it beats Lord of the Rings, lol.

I got over screen-musicals years ago. I wrote a musical of The Terminator with a heavy-metal score. I was going to workshop it and everything, but then I didn't want to do it without Cameron's permission. I should send him the script one of these days. One of the songs is "I'll Rip Out your F***ing Heart", which is what the Terminator sings every time he's on to Sarah

I know i will more than likely get tremendous flack for this! I have always thought the movie Xanadu could have been SOOOO much better than it was! With a few rewrites and some updating, i think it could make an unbelievable play. But that is me. LOL

i think it's funny how they always try and turn the movies that would be really hard to turn into musicals..like spider man, harry potter, ET, lord of the rings. but if they end up making them work i guess it's good
