Is anyone else as mini-upset over this as I am?

Mrs. Slocombe taught me SO MUCH about the dos-and-donts of hair maintenance!

Poor dear, lived a long life but seems the bitter-end was a fight for her. What a funny funny woman.

My partner and I were just discussing this over dinner tonight. Mollie Sugden (aka Mrs Slocombe from the BBC series 'Are You Being Served?') was indeed the mistress of the droll punch line. She never telegraphed her jokes, but delivered them with such icy haughtiness that they landed every time. If she had ever let it be known that she was in on the joke or the double entendre it wouldn't have been nearly as funny. And yes, the multitude of wacky hairstyles and colors (never commented on by her or anyone else) were priceless. Sadly, we have lost another 'one of a kind'.

As a young man who has only seen "Are You Being Served" on PBS reruns, I feel that my life and sense of humor were enriched by her and fellow cast members' performances. May she rest in peace.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

"Mrs. Slocombe taught me SO MUCH about the dos-and-donts of hair maintenance! "

And don't forget what she taught us about how to mix drinks (a gin and tonic - not too much tonic!) and how to hide them while at work!!

Molly Sugden was such a nice and talented lady... what a terrible loss. And "I am unanimous in that!"

I for one am sad about this. I loved tuning in as a kid just to see what colour hair she would have each night.

Mollie Sugden brought so much laughter into the world -- her line delivery was unmatchable. RIP, Mrs. Slocombe!!!!!!

This is so upsetting to me. She was truly a comedy legend to me and I can't thank her enough for all the hours of laughter she brought to me and my friends throughout the years.

Sad, sad, sad.

I've been watching this show since college. Britcoms on PBS got me thru school, life and tons of other things.

SBFLYFAN...you beat me to it! Unanimous! LOL...and I love the photo spread Mamie, thanks for sharing!

The complete DVD box set is on my list of things to get...and quickly.

The last time I saw Mollie, she was actually in the PBS studio during one of their beg-a-thons several years ago. She had on her outfit from the series and made a lovely speech to encourage people to give. Sure do miss that lady.
