LaCage: The problem isn't Christina's ability to dance - she's a fantastic dancer, and that is clear. She wasn't taken out of those two numbers, someone else on the boards said Charity always sat out for half of the rooftop number. And she was only out of brass band for like a minute. She can certainly dance anything - it's not her ability that's in question, it's her ankle at this point. Chill out, and stop comparing it to the original - which I doubt you saw.

It's her ankle that kept her out of the numbers. Prior to her injury, she was dancing her behind off in both "There's gotta be something better than this" and "I'm a brass band" in Chicago. She CAN do it....

I'm at a disadvantage because I only saw Dylis Croman perform it and I hope I have the chance to see it again with the star in residence. I would imagine that all that love from the audience would inspire far better performances across the board. And really, no performer deserves it more right now that Applegate. I never dreamed I'd be using "Tony" and Christina Applegate in the same sentence I think her story is good for a lot of votes. I can't see anyone putting together a better campaign for a statue than she's done. Vote your heart, indeed.

And I agree with you that I don't see much point in doing a revival if you are just going to recreate the original. New times, new casts, new audiences, deserve new ideas. Sadly, I thought that the new choreography and adjustments to the book were pretty much of a let down. When I've seen this done other places (Dinner theatres and colleges, mostly) "Rythm of Life" was electrifying. In this production, you could almost hear the audience mutter "What was THAT about?" to name but one big problem.

And again, I saw it in Chicago, with the third string understudy. Your review makes me curious to see what they have improved.

Well, I didn't see it in Chicago but the RYTHYM OF LIFE number is certainly still a WTF moment! And his voice - ouch! I LOOOOOOVE Rythym of Life (for years and years) and they went and butchered it here. What was that orchastration?

Well darling, you also think Gary Beach is GOOD in LA CAGE, so clearly we disagree.

You made some idiotic comments about Christina. You're making it seem as if she has no talent. When the truth is, she hurt herself. Okay, maybe she shouldn't have gone on so early - whatever- but there's there, so shut the F*CK up and stop complaining. If you claim you saw her limping (I saw nothing of the sort) then she is clearly in too much pain to dance - and that explains that.

I normally disagree with munk on (almost everything). But I will say one thing - he knows how to write a review - and one that makes you want to see the show.

Now, he usually makes some good points in his reviews. I think he is the only BWW-er I will trust with reviews (no offense to the rest).

It's weird, but when I see a show after one of his reviews that I had previosuly seen or read his review after seeing a show, I can totally see what he means.
