Munk's TARZAN review

^ Nobody on this board is a professional reviewer. EVERYBODY on this board posts reviews (unless they just lurk). And unless you're under a ROCK, everybody knows that Tarzan is in previews.
I think you need to get some thicker skin. Munk can't MAKE you do anything! It's just his opinion. He isn't even in the same ROOM as you, saying "I didn't like Tarzan, I don't advise you to see it." - This is an internet message board. You really need to relax. If you saw Tarzan and enjoyed it, then by all means, post why. But don't go around whining because Munk didn't. Have you even SEEN it? Because all I've seen you do is whine about Munk's opinion.

"Papa, touch me, etc: What gets me is that these people most definitely have not seen TARZAN yet, yet they bash anyone who says it's not wonderful. Yeah, I'd love for everything to be wonderful, too - but that's absurd."
Which is why I'm thinking shill.
"He then attacks my use of gramera, etc."
I think that if I were to use that sentence I'd double check my "gramera."

go back and reraed his advisory to not see the show.
thanks Munk - "you're not worth it" , you refuse to tell us you education, profession, I now wonder how old you are. 16, 17 ?
These are relevant questions because it colors ones observations of your reviews. If you are 15 year old girl or a 70 year old man, it gives perspective to what you say.

I'm a 20 year old male, for your information - and while you seem considerably older than I, age here doesn't seem to influence intelligence, or education.
What does my profession have to do with my opinion? I still don't understand that. I work in the theatre industry. At this point, off-Broadway, but I'm getting there. And what does being the director of an organization that helps diabled people have to do with your opinion? If we're going by profession, as you wish, it would seem that I have the edge on you now, doesn't it?

Fan,
I understand what you're getting at -- you want to know who Munk is, so you can say "see, he's a _______. Of course he's wrong."
But, that is what people call an "ad hom" logical fallacy. Again, attack the idea, not the person. A 15 year old girl can be right, and a 70 year old man can be wrong. Whether Munk used an ad hom back to you or not isn't the issue. The issue is for you to control what you can control -- which isn't what other people say about you.

Thanks Munk..always enjoy your reviews.
This sounds like a clunker that will sell out for years because of the Disney name. It's a shame. The Richard Rogers is such a nice theatre too.

Posted: 4/7/06 at 10:09amBWAYFAN3 - The question should be.. how old are YOU? I don't know many HIGH SCHOOL students who would be concerned if somebody on the internet advised them against seeing a show, let alone grown adults. I advised everyone and their MOTHER against seeing In My Life - I said it was 2 hours of my life that I could never reclaim, they shouldn't waste their time - and yet, I think a large number of BWW people went (ok, mostly to see the legendary badness, but still) Maybe Munk is using some kind of mind control... and I'm far too caffinated to be affected. How do you even get dressed in the morning?

MUNK says he works in the theatre. Its fine for him to post his opinions; but why would a theatre pro. bash another show to the point of saying it should be renamed TARZAN: THE NEW BROADWAY MIGRAINE. Thats not very professional.
BTW MUNK yes I am older then 20, wish I wasn't.
I'm in investor in 3 shows this season in competition with Tarzan. So sorry not a shill for Tarzan.

Posted: 4/7/06 at 10:31amI HOPE THE SHOW IS NOT AS BAD AS IT IS BEING TALKED ABOUT. I AM SUCH A BIG FAN OF ANASTACIA MCCLESKEY AND CHESTER GREGORY AND I HOPE THEY ARE NOT IN A BAD SHOW. THEY WERE GREAT IN HAIRSPRAY AND WHILE I HAVEN'T SEEN TARZAN YET I HOPE WHEN I DO SEE IT THIS SUMMER IT IS STILL RUNNING AND THAT IT IS GOOD.

Yeah - this review was ridiculous/hilarious to read. Sorry the show was so incredibly offensive to you - its almost as if you think Tarzan will destroy the universe.
Also interesting is your wild vendetta against Bob Crowley (obviously the devil)...Your opinion was invalidated to me when you bashed his Tony Award winning sets for Aida, and blamed David Henry Hwang's book on "the heinous" Crowley.
