this just proves it...
GO SEE THE HISTORY BOYS!
"Make of that what you will."- Margo
This board is full of the theater elite. Yes, I know everyone on here except me loves Sweeney, Piazza, etc, and Margo, Cats was horrible and I think only foreign tourists liked that show.
If you go survey random tourists in Times Square, there would be a variety of opinions on every single show. So Tarzan and Sweeney can both have their audiences filled by theatergoers who will prefer that production. Fine, more tickets for those who will enjoy the show.
CQT- too big!!

You know, Munk, I believe there's a innate biological need for optimism and those things which bond human beings and unless one can personally profit from bad news, I think most people have a natural tendency to react negatively to bad news. (What else accounts for the cliche "Don't shoot the meesenger.")?
A lot of us share something in common with MIC: theater gives us temporary respite from the day-to-day responsibilities we have to meet. When a long-anticipated show is pronounced a bomb it's as if we have one opportunity less to escape reality for a few hours and the messenger who says "Sorry, for those of you who were hoping this show would be something special, the show svcks" becomes an assassin.

Why are you people all so bitchy! It's f***ing Tarzan!
Hawker: I do see your point, but I'm one of those people that looks forward to every single show, hoping it will have that special something (whether it's a good show or a bad show) that takes me away for a few hours. I was just as disappointed as some of these people (if, that is indeed their reason for acting like crazies), but it's not my problem the show is dreadful. And I'm the one that spent money on it, not them.
So facsinating that this thread just DIED!
Thought I'd resurrect it to see what further drama may ensue. It amused me.

I've had tickets for Tarzan since they first became available. I love the movie and Disney productions, but everything about this show sounds pretty bad.
I go late May, I almost wish that I could trade them in! My sole reason for visiting New York is to see it (I live in Minneapolis), though I'm seeing two other shows as well.
EDIT: After going back and reading some of the comments, maybe I am glad I'm seeing this. Sorry, but so far I think liotte has proved herself the more mature one in this argument.
