Musical Analysis of Death Becomes Her

Hello fellow Broadway babies! I’m a huge musical theatre nerd and I’m obsessed with this show. I haven’t fallen this hard for a new musical in like 15 years, so I’ve been rabidly consuming the music since the cast album was released!
As a career musician who writes vocal and instrumental arrangements for a living, I think the score is a masterpiece. I love it so much that I felt compelled to create my first ever video essay dissecting the nuances of the music, and I thought this would be a good place to post it. Thank you so much!!! I can’t fathom how anyone could think these songs aren’t memorable. This show is super trendy right now, but I don’t think it will be a flash in the pan, I truly believe it will stand the test of time and become a beloved classic!

I know there have been many criticisms of the score but I’ve found it extremely pleasurable to listen to- it’s a cast album that I really enjoy listening to in its entirety.
