Hi all! I'm new to the MT game but I've become crazy about it after I saw my first Broadway show last summer. I'm obsessed with "Violet" but can't find anything like it (maybe I'm looking in the wrong place) I would love suggestions to any similar scores!!
Thanks!

I would say look into the Spitfire Grill. It's music has a similar feel and also the theme of a broken woman accepting herself is also present.
To expand your familiarity with MT in general, perhaps consider exploring the past work of the cast members you enjoyed most in Violet. Playbill Vault is a great site for doing that; if you search Violet and bring up its page, you'll be able to click on each cast members' name to see their past Broadway credits.

I would recommend other works by Jeanine Tesori - the composer of "Violet". I would take a listen to "Caroline, or Change" (a personal favorite of mine) and "Fun Home". The recordings are both on iTunes, and "Fun Home" will be on Broadway in April :)
I found "110 in the Shade" to have some thematic similarities to Violet and kind of a similar feel in terms of the time period, setting, etc.
It seems odd, but I find many aspects of Floyd Collins to be similar. To me, both have the southern Americana feel at different parts.
