I have all kinds of ideas for musical and they never got past the idea stage....

But i thought there was supposed to be a Honeymooner's Musical )i have some of the songs) but it never amounted to much--

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

Yeah, really. All of the ones in my head. But hopefully, one day they won't just be ideas.

One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

About 10 years ago there was serious talk of creating a "Last of the Mohicans" musical in Toronto and then bringing it to Broadway. Every now and then I still hear that the idea is being considered.

Guettel was going to write a musical version of The Princess Bride. It's a shame that project was canceled.

Looks like "The Master and Margarita" will never reach fruition, or at least not till Phantom 2 is finished : /

I would someday like to see Disney's Hunchback stage version on Broadway.

I remember, ages ago, reading in New York Magazine, that Billy Cristal wanted to come to Broadway in a new musical with book by Neil Simon and songs by Stephen Sondheim.

I wondered if it would be called "Barefoot in the Park with George"

And, there was talk about a "Captain America" musical. All I remember is that Lara Teeter from the "On Your Toes" revival was going to choreograph and that John Cullum was going to star. It was going to be about his mid-life crisis and his girlfriend was the President, who was being held hostage by terrorists. All that ever came from it was some publicity shots of John Cullum wearing a "Captain America" outfit.

Sexual Harrassment - The Musical!

Based on the story of an HBO writing intern who sued the company for sexual harrassment because of the dirty comments thrown about by some show's -- I think Sex and the City -- writers during pitch sessions.

A musical version of the Napoleon and Josephine story was discussed for years. It was to star Anthony Newley and Barbra Streisand. Obviously, it never happened.

At a Kristin Chenoweth concert last year, Andrew Lippa discussed working on "Betty Boop" and I haven't heard anything further.
