Posted: 9/4/08 at 10:54amI'm glad he included IN MY LIFE on that list...just dreadful. I do love CARRIE and INTO THE LIGHT though...

I can't believe people commented on the list that Cats should be included

I loved Metro and went back a second time. Not sure why he had a hard time understanding it because the plot was incredibly simple.
Perhaps he missed them, but what about Thou Shalt Not and Aint Broadway Grand?

Posted: 9/4/08 at 1:13pmCarrie shouldn't be on the list: too entertaining. I'm fond of Thou Shalt Not- the score's okay, although Connick obviously did an awful job of plot expansion. The music's very listenable, the performance's (especially Norbert) were great, and the plot was interesting. If someone who knew a **** about theatre could help Harry revise it and they got a better cast and worked with it a bit, it could be a solid show.

I can't believe someone commented on the list that Ragtime should be included.

I pretty much agree with the list. Dance of the Vampires is probably number 6. Yikes!
Why shouldn't Carrie be included? It was horrific. What was one of the reviews.."it was a horror of a Broadway show for the wrong reasons" or something. Don't get me wrong, I loved 'Carrie's actual parts (I actually love the songs Carrie & I'm Not Alone, among others. I'm probably one of the few who would love if the song "In" remained in the show, should it ever unlikely ever get a revival. That was the only true '80s pop sounding number I really liked. The stuff that wasn't '80s pop sounding was actually quite good!)
And I dislike the Lion King immensely too, but it's certainly not the worst musical(s) out there.
