My "Light In The Piazza" Review 5/21

My quest to see all Tony nominated performances took me to The Vivian Beaumont Theatre tonight.
I went into the show knowing little about the premise and cast.
Everything about the show was stunning especially the wonderfully authentic Italy set costumes, and lighting design.
The entire cast was strong, Kelly O' Hara sang and acted the part of Clara beautifully, but seemed to lack a certain spark onstage. The true standout performances in this show are by Matthew Morrison and Victoria Clark. I wouldn't be suprised to see both of them win the Tony this year. I don't want to give away anything for those who have yet to see it. The score has three very catchy songs and as a added bonus everyone got a promo cd in the Playbill :)

Thank God! This is the *one* review that I've been waiting for!

Now I will go see it.

I was at the same performance tonight, and I was very impressed with the show. It's quite moving.

(Tony Bennett was in the audience, too -- not that it mattered to how much I liked the show, but I thought it was cool that he was taking the show in.)

I was at the show tonight, too!
I absolutely loved it.
Just beautiful. So beautiful.
Everything about it.
I was definitely taken by the show.
The sets and lighting were some of the best I've ever seen.
The orchestrations were stunning.
And Victoria Clark? Brilliance.
I hope Piazza wins for those four Tonys.
And for score. It's gorgeous.
What a wonderful night at the theatre, I must say!

No, it's just "Dividing Day" and "Say It Somehow."
It also says that the full album will be out in June, hmmm.
It's coming out on Tuesday though. Thank goodness, ha.

I don't know. It says June 2005. But didn't they just recently push the CD release so that it would be out for the Tony voters? Maybe it was originally was supposed to be released in June.
