Posted: 2/12/08 at 12:46pmThere were programs, t-shirts, magnets, etc during the Kennedy Center run. I especially like the pink items that said "I'm a good girl, I am!"

I ALMOST bought that T-shirt, but I wasn't sure it would fit. It was so cute!

i went to the show last night and i LOVED it! it was so insanely good and very packed (deservedly) for a Tuesday night. i wish i could afford to see it again before it leaves Boston but alas, i will take my memories with me :)
the Souvenir Program is awesome as well (for those interested). the pictures and articles are very thorough. a true gem of a show that would do WONDERFULLY on Broadway if they decided to bring it there

folky-oh .. youre making me soo jealous!
I hope I get to see the show before it leaves Boston... this weekend is not gonna be good for me bec. I will be in NYC for Sunday in the Park.....
I cant see the show at Sunday 730 pm.. its too long (3 hours) and I have to work Monday..my only chance is Sunday matinee...which is doubtful for now
Unless.. I see it today or tommorow, but I have to take a day off the next day...
I cant fully recoup if I stay up soo late... I usually go to bed by 10:30 pm.. if I see the show.. I still have to wind down..and most likely I am FEELING ELECTRIC after any shows... If only they have Wednesday matinee today.. I could have take 1/2 today.

Let me add to the praise being heaped on this production.
I was there last night as well and thought that it was a national tour that reeked of Broadway quality from the sets, to the costumes, to the orchestra to the actors. In fact, the production values and acting were far superior to much that I’ve seen on Broadway. This show could easily open in New York tomorrow, receive critical and public praise across the board, and I firmly believe that Lisa O’Hare could send Patti and Jenna Russell packing on Tony night. The cast is solid and lively, the choreography is exquisite, the sets are divine and grand and the orchestra sounded full and lush. I was just in the Opera House a few weeks ago to see “Spamalot” and the singers and orchestra sounded tinny and far away. I was able to hear every word last night at “My Fair Lady.” I thought to myself, “This is smart theatre, and this is what you call acting.” I can’t say enough about it. If you’re in Boston, run to see it before it leaves. You rarely see a touring company that comes even close to this kind of quality.
One other note, during the curtain call, I heard many calling out “Bravo!” How often do you hear that nowadays? Again, it’s another testament to this wondrous production.
Please, see it.

i suggest it, jay. it's SO not a bus & truck and you can tell. the reason the orchestra you heard for SPAMALOT sounded tinny was because it was 3 keyboards and a computer chip.
you can really tell this show is magic!

I saw the tour when it was in DC last month. The first thing I noticed was the orchestra had a lot of pieces!! Now that's a change.
The performances and production values were excellent, but for the most part, I was bored to tears. I guess I just don't particularly care for this show. I felt the same way when I saw the Broadway revival in '94.

#45re: My Fair Lady Review (Boston Opera House)--2/6/08
Posted: 2/13/08 at 10:57pmoh those will be fine. it's not SO far right. there really aren't too many bad seats in that house. some of the lighting might be a problem for you as some of the scenes are dark, but i was back of the orchestra and i could see very well

Hi All-
I just saw 1/3 of the show last night.. I was very disappointed. Lisa O' Hare was out last night. We basically walked out of the show at 8:30 pm (show started at 7:30)
I think I posted the reasons why i did not like the show on this thread.
https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.cfm?page=147&thread=956071&boardname=off&boardid=2
I really dont wanna talk about that much since I was disapointed so dont ask me alot of questions as to why? I already explained it to the thread above ^^^ and I am sure there are a lot of people who love the show... Its just not what I like- personal preference
Well I got some fabulous pictures of THE OPERA HOUSE...from what I took from my 1 hour stay at the show. I should really see only 1 SHOW a week... I am probably getting tired of seeing too many shows.
