I know this in Sydney and not BROADWAY. But since its led by a big name and is a big production . I thought I will post about it here.

Btw this is my first post.

It's just so expensive. I don't know if I can be bothered to pay for it unless Dame Julie wants to reprise her role.

Broadway is just as expensive but at least it has so much quality behind it. Juile directing it sounds like a gimmick . Why did they not get O Sher to direct it

As someone who has been to NYC many times and am buying tickets for next year, this show is far more expensive than Broadway! Unless it's Hamilton, there is always a way to get cheaper tickets.
How expensive is a ticket? What star is demanding a high salary or is Julie demanding high percentage of the gross?

I really wanna go but yeah tickets are way too expensive... Typically shows in Australia cost a lot more than Broadway but this is too much eh I couldn't imagine how expensive hamilton would be when it comes here.

This production recreated the exact sets and costumes of the original Broadway production, so I guess, in your opinion, the original production looked ugly.

but we moved on from that. South Pacific was the best revival ever

Is this still looking to come to broadway with Kelli O'hara? I haven't heard a peep about her doing the King and I in london in a while.

It hasn't even started performances yet...

Also, I was wrong about one thing. They do seem to have very cheap seats occasionally available in very odd locations - but I'm a seat snob and would rather opt out in this case.

My mistake. Did you see it?
I assume the high price is due to it being opera prices?? That's common in N America and England when opera companies do Broadway shows
Galati is no slouch and I suspect directed most of it with Andrews offering input for the recreation. I am a sucker for recreations and that set is gorgeous to me--I wish they'd show one of the famous scene changes--in the Wouldn't it be Loverly clip you can clearly see it uses the two revolves. Though I wonder how much bigger the stage must be.
The Opera House stage is actually pretty small.
Funnily enough, a new production of My Fair Lady just opened this week here in Brazil.
Paulo Szot is playing Professor Higgins. I'm quite excited to see it! (I'm going tomorrow)

In comparison a similar She Love Me set looked so much better

I recall when photos of the set for She Loves Me were released, quite a few people commented on how cheap it looked. (Of course upon actual viewing, it was another thing altogether)

Perhaps it's because I'm used to Broadway prices, but I looked on the site and prices range from $50-260 Australian ($38-196 USD). Not cheap, but in line with Broadway and West End prices.
