Hey all! First post here, so I thought I'd make a splash with all of my top favorite youtubers who provide theatre themed videos(if not only that.)
I'm new to the whole... internet thing, trying to step out of my comfort zone. Theatre has always been a huge part of my life(always behind the scenes), I thought I'd give this a shot.
I tried to stray away from profession/official Broadway channels, like Broadwaycom, just because... like... obviously, they are very present. My goal here is to bring some awareness to the lesser known talents in our community!
Please let me know who your favorites are, and please check out all of the channels here because I personally think they are worth your time!
Let's support these people who deserve so much more attention!
10. Kevin Lynch
Known for hating musical theatre. But, maybe he loves it? No, impossible.
Check them out HERE
9. Broadway Bitches
Providing two perspectives on the modern Broadway reportoire. Most known for reviews, and sit down vlogs.
Check them out HERE
8. divas&dragons
A group of rag tag and well-humoured friends creating skits, music, scripted content, and random videos. Most known for their reaction video to Dear Evan Hansen. (Mostly theatre, and LGBTQ+ themes!)
Check them out HERE
7. ukulili
Ukulele covers from musicals, tutorials and original songs!
Check them out HERE
6. Tyler Mount
Vlogs with all your favorite performers, and is sponsored by Playbill Video(which almost disqualifies him from this list, but I can't deny catching his vids on my radar quite often!)
Check them out HERE
5. Katherine Steele
The Queen of Theatre Youtube! Provides tips and tricks and witty, hilarious banter in her videos.
Check them out HERE
4. Anthony Rosenthal
A hilarious vlogger who posts skits, tags and other pretty cool videos. (He was in the 2016 Broadway Revival of Falsettos.)
Check them out HERE
3. SubmissionsOnlyTV
A webseries "Created by Kate Wetherhead & Andrew Keenan-Bolger, "Submissions Only" follows the friendship of Penny Reilly and Tim Trull, an actor and casting director respectively, as it evolves against the backdrop of the absurd world of auditioning for theater in NYC."
Check them out HERE
2. Musical Theatre Mash
Known for his Monthly "Show of the Week" videos, he provides educated blurbs and fascinating opinions in each and every one of his videos. My favorites are when he's drunk.
Check them out HERE
1. Team Starkid
I have to admit that I wasn't much of a musical theatre fan before I saw their Harry Potter musical parodies. I pretended to be a fan, but once I found this troupe, I fell HARD! You've probably heard of them, and they don't need recognition, but on the off-chance that you haven't... you're welcome! And I wouldn't feel right doing a post about my top 10 theatre themed Youtube channels without adding this to this list! They are the epitome of, started at the bottom, now we're here.
Check them out HERE
And that was my list! Thanks for reading. Let me know what some of your favorites are, and reminder that this is just my opinion! There are MANY more youtubers who do videos based around theatre and Broadway...
Please be respectful, hate does nothing good for the world.

I've never seen Luke's videos pop up in my recommended, but will have to check him out! Not knowing about people is probably the #1 reason they're not on the list. #2 being it's only my top 10, not everyone that I watch. Thanks. :-]

Your welcome. I'm subscribed to his channel. He doesn't do theatre reviews yet but talks about the latest TV musicals and movie reviews. Last Saturday he did a Wicked movie dream cast

That's neat, I've seen quite a few dream cast videos floating around!

Well his is the only video I've seen about the movie. He also did a Dreamcast for Rent Live

Another one is Musical Hell. It's a review channel framed as a low-level demon being tasked with reviewing the worst musical films of all time. The woman behind it is really funny, and also does a series called Know The Score, where she talks about good musicals.

Yooo! I love Musical Hell!
XxJessWorldxX stopped posting videos a while ago but his new podcasts are great.
Kevin Lynch and Musical Theatre Mash are my jam tho
Hi there djacks! Welcome to the boards!
I am a huge fan of MTM!! He has such a great way of explaining things and is gut-bustingly hilarious at the sane time (it doesn't hurt that we have basically identical tastes though). While I don't know if it counts strictly as Broadway, but I absolutely adore Randy Rainbow as well. Seeing a new parody from him always makes my day :)
In addition to YouTube there are several podcasts that are really entertaining and quite informative; the hosts are very knowledgeable about OBC recordings (both past and present); they also review current productions, not only Broadway but local productions and even the UK/West End...
- Broadway Radio: This Week On Broadway - Peter Filichia (and others ?)
- The Poddest Couple - Matt Tamanini - lots of fun and current "theater going-ons"
- The National Theatre Podcast - (I'm hoping they will do "Angels In America" soon).
- Masterworks Broadway - also w/Peter Filichia - great reviews, also with discussions of current, classic, and hard-to-find or unusual recordings.
There are more but I tend to go to these first...learn and enjoy!

Of the OP's list, my faves are probably Katherine, mostly because I can tell she's pretty intelligent, though her target seems to be theatre newbies, which isn't my thing, but I like Kat's demeanor, humor, and wit :)
My other favorite is Tommy, aka MTM...in fact he's probably my favorite on this list because he's SUPER intelligent, and he's one of very few YT'ers that I continually say to myself, "I WANT TO BE HIS FRIEND!" He looks at things from a dramaturgy perspective which I've discovered over the years I've been doing and didn't even know it at the time. He's incredibly detailed without being overbearing because he sees the detail but knows how those the details fit into the larger picture of a show which is basically what dramaturgy is all about, and knows that writing, show flow/structure, and thematic vision/direction are half, if not almost all of what make a show good to begin with, and I've found myself agreeing with just about EVERYTHING he's ever said, with super minor things being the one I didn't agree with. He gets art is largely subjective, but there's a still a decent degree of objectivity to it, but STILL acknowledges that it's not a perfect science, and somehow things work just because...they DO. Who knows why, they just do. And yes, he's witty and hilarious at the same time. I think just want BE him come to think of it.
I'll just mention Kevin seems to be an acquired taste. I like him to a degree, but can only take him in doses. He doesn't "hate musical theatre" so to speak. If he did, he wouldn't be vlogging He just hates what the world of MT has become which I 1000% understand. It's just his style that can turn people off, I've seen people seem to either hate him or love him. But by and large I can agree with much of what he says.

Hey all, I'd like to remind that this post is meant to bring awareness to you of youtubers you haven't heard of. I'm so glad some people have taken to listing a few of their faves and agreeing or disagreeing with my original post, but let's not forget to give some of the smaller guys a fighting chance!

DoubleDReviews and Broadway Bitches and Kevin Lynch and Musical Theatre Mash. Nothing else compares.
RIP to Patty and Emily.
I have only seen musical theatre mash but will start watching the others you mentioned! Thank you for sharing.
I really liked musical theatre mash's videos as he has this ability to make any musical sound exciting!

Shameless plug but I just recently started a theatre reviewing/NYC lifestyle channel!
I'd appreciate any support :)

Kevin Lynch is the worst. Shrill and nasty. He's a talented pianist. That's the only positive thing I can come up with about him.

i think broadway bitches is a nice replacement for patty and Emily.
this thread has got me thinking what are people’s favorite Instagram accounts.
Check out Colby Dezelick, he is in the ensemble of Miss Saigon and he doesn't post much anymore but his previous vlogs are really interesting to watch as it shows you what the life of a Broadway actor is really like
