Only seeing Chicago once?
I know. Initially, I had thought of seeing "Chicago" also on Nov. 20th. However, I had wanted to see "Phantom" (a show I had planned on seeing in June 2020). So, I got a ticket to Phantom....which I did before the announcement of Phantom's closing. I did see a non-Equity tour of "Chicago" on Nov. 4th here in Austin. It was a nice experience. I did get a chance to meet some of the cast members at the stage door/loading dock. Before I forget, I do hope I see some of you during my trip....maybe at Marie's?
Would love a review of the tour you just saw. My former student was in the 2020 tour before COVID shut it done.
You'll get AFW & Charlotte for Chicago. Hopefully neither are sleepwalking through the show.
I had hope of seeing Leigh Zimmerman once more. But, that is looking as unlikely. I am wondering who the next Mama will be on the 21st?

Could you possibly see the 2pm matinee of Chicago before your Phantom show at 5pm? 30 minutes is plenty of time to get from 49th to 44th Street and even grab a slice of pizza.
I cannot see the 2pm Chicago, as my flight arrives at 1:00pm at La Guardia. That would be an impossibility. Next time, I will try more than one Chicago.
My final itinerary: Sun. Nov. 20th: Phantom of the Opera
Mon. Nov. 21st: Museum of Broadway, Chicago
Tues. Nov. 22nd : Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Moulin Rouge
I may go to Marie's after Phantom finishes. I do hope I can meet someone from Broadway World.
It has been a busy and hectic day. First, my airline SW changed my connecting flight from Chicago Midway to Nashville BNA. What's worse was that I would arrive at La Guardia at a later time. After my plane arrived, I got a taxi to my hotel on West 47th St. Needless to say, there was a lot of traffic. I finally arrived at my hotel at around 4:30 p.m. There was a line for check in. I finished that close to 4:45 p.m. I rushed into my room...and without changing clothes, I literally ran all the way from the Hotel Edison on West 47th to the Majestic Theatre on West 44th. I got there at around 4:50. I managed to catch my breath for about ten minutes and then the show began.
I really enjoyed Phantom. Aside from having a huge cast, it felt like I was in an opera. The leads were amazing with their vocal prowess. I especially liked Raoul. He wanted to save Christine from the Phantom. It was kind of shocking to see the Phantom without his mask....sort of grotesque. I was so exhausted from my trip that I tried to stay awake during Act 1. After the intermission, I was better able to enjoy the show. Kudos to the ushers at the Majestic for being firm with people and their cell phones. Outside, it was very very cold. When the show ended, I I walked back to my hotel. I'm still kind of jet lagged. Tomorrow on Mon. Nov. 22: The Museum of Broadway and Chicago.
