Ok, so I'm sure as lots of you know, a few of us got tickets to the 10/7 Wicked to see Julia in her last performance. THEN the NYRP thing was added, which she will probably do being such a big Charity person AND a Bette fan. Now, I live in Maryland so I will be taking the train up to NY. Because of that, I feel kind of iffy about going just to see a particular person, especially in a show that I don't really care for. I dread getting up the Gershwin getting that evil little piece of paper saying I'm seeing Lisa. But I'm going to the UK for a year, so whatever Jules does next isn't an option for me, unless she's taking a European tour. So I took the gamble and purchased the tickets. I figured unless she pulls an Idina and falls through a hole or something, she would do her last day simply because it's her last. But now I'm panicking because she's slated to do 2 performances on 10/7. I'm scared she'll skip the matinee and just do the night show. And enough people on here have seen Lisa instead of Julia, so I don't think I'm too far off the mark in that concern.
Normally, I'd just buy a second ticket to the 8pm and camp out at my favorite hotel in Midtown. But I'm bringing a friend with me and she's a teacher, so she has to be in the classroom on Monday morning. So the 8pm show is out of the question for her.
Here are my options at this point:
1. Go to the 3pm show with my gf and pray she's there. It won't be the real "last", but it's on the same day. Whatever.
2. Keep the 3 pm tickets and try and get a seat for the 8pm show when they go on general release. But if I get tickets for the 8pm show, what do I do about my friend?
3. Try and sell my 3pm tickets and hope I can get one that's just as good by the time I find a buyer. My matinee tickets are for the center orchestra, 5th row, dead center.
4. Sell my tickets and forget the whole thing.
If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open.
Thanks!
